With that said, let’s take a glance at 10 underclassmen that have the potential to make an impact at the SHAC!
Good luck to all the teams and players today!
He has had a quality season for the Packers and has started most of the year. Keyton is a double-digit scorer with the ability to go off and score in the 20’s. He stuffs the stat sheet and plays with a ton of heart. Keyton is an NRG player and an excellent defender. He is super quick, twitchy, and bouncy. If the Packers get the W today, McGregor will likely have a big hand in that. Expect Keyton to has a nice afternoon on both sides of the ball and for him to be making hustle plays all over the SHAC floor.
His size, scoring, and rebounding will be needed today. Wirth will be battling down low with Leal all afternoon. Wirth is an athletic player that shoots a high percentage. If he gets separation beyond the arc, Oliver will drill the triple and he can score at the rim. He is also an unselfish passer. If DL gets the W today, it will likely be because Wirth boarded well and played tough D. The DL vs. WF matchup is going to be a fun one!
He is a game changer with his height, length, and size. Tommy protects the paint and rim. He does a great job of altering/changing shots. He provides a solid post presence. He scores well at the rim. Ahneman can get buckets with his back to the basket, with O-board put backs, and thrives off dump downs and dishes. He can finish around and through defenders. Look out for his 2-handed WHAMS. Tommy is also a productive rebounder.
He is a heady player that is smart with the ball. Cole is a lead guard with tight handles and he creates for others. He is great at attacking, drawing help, and finding the open man. He is a crafty scorer with a nice pull-up. Wilber is a sneaky defender that can pick your pocket and step in front of passes. If the game is on the line today, expect Cole to be delivering the pass for the big shot.
With Klabo out, the Eagles will need Beiswenger to provide a scoring punch. He can hit from the outside, knockdown pull-ups, and score at the cup. Jaxon is a long and athletic wing. On defense, he can guard multiple positions and will play a key role in this evenings matchup.
He will not be the thickest or strongest player on the court tonight but he will likely be the most athletic. Alpha is a high volume rebounder. The Eagles are going to need his size and defense against Kraft and Hakim. Camara plays hard and he gets up and down the court in a hurry. If he gets a little space or has a fastbreak, get the cameras ready because Camara can fly!
He is an impact player on the defensive side of the ball. It will be interesting to see if he ends of guarding Brown or Yorke. Kaden leaves it all on the floor. If there is a loose ball on the court, Christmann will be diving on the SHAC floor. He will be working his tail off the the glass as well. Kaden is a strong slasher that will create for others and score at the rim. Look for Christmann to be an X-factor for the Deacons this evening.
Highlights
He is a gifted athlete that can make splashy plays in transition, slash for buckets, and knockdown triples. Matthew is averaging 15.8 ppg, so you know he going to put up some points tonight. How many, will be the question. Matthew plays very well with his older brother Jeremiah and you should expect them to be setting each other up all night long. If Jeremiah puts down an alley-oop, odds are that it came from his younger brother. Get ready for the Sem Show tonight, it will certainly be entertaining!
He is a valuable member of the Roughriders and RR will need Parks to produce on both sides of the ball. Physically, he does not look like a sophomore. Parks is a STRONG athlete. If he gets a mismatch, he will make teams pay from the block. He will also play bully-ball when slashing to the rack. If you give him space, Pearce will also hit the perimeter jumper. Parks will play an important role on the defensive side of the ball when going up against the high-powered Spartan offense.
He is a vital role player for the Roughriders. Oehlke is a lively reserve off the bench that brings the NRG and juice! Look for Zach to make impact plays and to hold his own on defense. He will grab offensive boards, kickout to shooters, and score in transition. Zach will likely not be the leading scorer but he will make plenty of hustle plays and get the Roughriders extra possessions. Spartans vs. Roughriders will be a wild one!
