I was able to make it over to the West side of Indianapolis for Avon at Decatur Central on Monday. Then, on Tuesday, I saw an Indianapolis battle with University and Indianapolis Chatard. On Thursday, I had a Wabash Valley battle with Sullivan hosting Owen Valley. Now, let’s take a look at the top 2023 prospects from those three games last week.
Luke Adams
Luke Adams
Adams is a 2023 guard who is committed to Southeast Missouri State to play quarterback. As for now, he has been putting up huge numbers on the hardwood this season, and this week was no different. Adams used his confidence, his explosiveness, and his shooting ability to light it up from all three levels. He scored 34 points and added 5 steals in the win over Owen Valley.
Ball is a 2023 post player who is one of the many uncommitted top-50 players left in the state. Ball is a scholarship level player at his high points, but he has the tendency to just disappear at times as he did in this one. When he takes his time in the post and uses his footwork and strength, he is one of the better post players in the class. However, when he gets sped up, it leads to turnovers and frustration from Ball. He scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds despite struggling for a lot of the game. I truly don’t believe that he has reached his full potential yet.
Highlights
Davidson has had a breakout senior season for Chatard this year as the wing has really showcased his talent. He is tough around the rim with a lot of strength and athleticism to beat defenders inside. He is always looking to attack, and he is shifty with the ball in his hands which makes him very difficult to stop. He can also step outside and knock down the triple if the defense sags. Davidson scored 17 in the loss to University.
Highlights
Eck is a bigger wing who rebounds the ball incredibly well. He is a high IQ player who positions himself well, and he moves well without the ball on the offensiv end. He is also a skilled shooter as he was a perfect 5-5 in this one. Eck finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
Knapp is another 2023 wing who shoots it lights out from the outside. He has a great stroke and seems to not miss off te catch and shoot. He also showed the ability to take it to the rim and finish in traffic. Knapp finished with just 9 points but had a pair of timely threes to keep erase a double-digit deficit in the second half.
Highlights
Ozlowski is a 2023 wing who is committed to DePauw. He is a high IQ player who sees the floor well and can pass it well out of the post. He seems to always be on the attack, but his unselfishness and passing ability get the ball where it needs to go. His length also disrupts things on the defensive end of the floor. He added 12 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in a stat-stuffing day in the win.
