Camerin James Camerin James 6'6" Leesburg high | 2023 FL – Leesburg
James has a great frame at 6’6 200+ pounds. He’s a powerful vertical athlete with a growing skill set. He’s a good slasher, shows good vision in transition, and scores well from 15 feet and in. James is a solid defender that can cover bigger guards, wings, and small ball fours. He’ll need time to develop more of a halfcourt game, but it’s been an improvement throughout the season.
Nate Sasser Nate Sasser 6'6" | SG Suncoast | 2023 State #207 Nation FL – Suncoast
Sasser is one of the more interesting unsigned seniors in the state. As an athletic 6’6 wing that can score in transition, create for himself in the midrange, and knock down shots from the perimeter, he’s still under the radar. He has a pair of division 1 offers. Still, anyone looking for college-ready size, a decent scoring feel, and the athleticism to guard several perimeter positions should join his late signing sweepstakes.
Kris Parker Kris Parker 6'6" | CG Crossroads | 2023 State #72 Nation FL – Crossroads Academy
Parker is considered a top 200 prospect in the class and could be higher considering his feel for the game and physical tools. At 6’8, he can play anywhere on the perimeter and may be able to play some small ball four as his frame fills out. He’s a guy that can produce on limited touches. Parker rebounds well, is a three-level scorer, and shows off his passing with a talented group of players surrounding him.
John Gamble John Gamble 6'6" Charlotte | 2023 FL – Charlotte
Every guy in this article is athletic, but Gamble has freak show bounce and may be the fastest. His highlight reel is filled with him scoring above the rim in the half-court and transition, but his shooting growth over the past year excites me about his future. He’s hitting threes off the dribble and off the catch. Because of his quick first step and elevation, he can get to mid-range spots and shoot over defenders. He’ll need to tighten his handle to play extensive minutes as a freshman, but if his growth as a shooter hints at his work ethic, that improvement won’t be an issue in the right environment. His athleticism and length make him a solid off-ball defender with a disruptive upside as an on-ball defender.
Karmello Branch Karmello Branch 6'3" | SF Tampa Catholic | 2023 State FL – Wharton
Branch’s game is smooth and versatile. He’s strong enough to guard several positions, competitive enough to answer the call in challenging situations, and has the IQ to make the right play regularly. In the past, I’ve talked about Branch’s intangibles more than his game, and it’s because it makes everything work. He’s a self creator that can score on all three levels, rebounds well for someone 6’5, and gets teammates involved as teams key in on him. Branch is a winner who played in the final four two seasons in a row.
