City Section used to dominate the high school basketball landscape back in the day and while more emphasis has been placed on Southern Section in recent years, there is still talent in City Section to watch. Here’s a look at some additional City Section wings to keep an eye on as the playoffs get underway this week.
1. Josahn Webster – King/Drew 2026
Webster is one of the top shooters in City Section. He has a very good three point shot with a quick release and does a good job moving without the ball and being ready for the pass. Good corner three-point shooter. Able to use shot fakes to get his defender off balance and he can dribble in for a closer midrange jumper or still get the three-point shot off. He also cuts in from the three-point line to the basket. He’s a good rebounder, stays active on the glass.

– Taft 2023
Kensie is an explosive wing who can get buckets. He’s a great athlete who can explode to the basket with quick bursts and is looking to finish strong at the rim. Good baseline drives and is able to finish through traffic. The lefty shooter has consistent range out to the three-point line and can shoot with defenders in his space. Can shoot the one-two dribble pull-up in the halfcourt and gets good elevation on his shot. He can handle the ball well and he has some playmaking to his game as well.
3. Mike Hill – Westchester 2023
Hill is a good scoring guard and one of the top offensive options for the Comets. He’s also able to be a playmaker too. He is comfortable in the halfcourt with the ball in his hands and can find the open teammate around the basket. Consistently able to attack off the dribble and he can finish at the basket strong through traffic. Good face-up three-point shooter. Defensively he is solid, able to fight through screens, slides his feet well and uses his quick hands to knock balls free. Forces difficult passes.
4. Justin Rosenbaum – Cleveland 2023
Rosenbaum is a shooter. He moves without the ball and does a good job relocating once the initial pass is made. Shoots the corner three-ball consistently. He can attack closeouts well and uses fakes to draw contact on his jumpers. Able to dribble in for the closer midrange jumper. Can shoot the midrange with consistency and does well creating separation between him and the defender to get his shot off. He can handle the ball and he makes good decisions in transition with the ball in his hands.
5. Isaiah Lightfoot – Manual Arts 2023
Lightfoot is able to play both point guard and shooting guard and does a good job knowing when to get his shot off and knowing when to make the pass. He is one of the Toilers team captains and is comfortable being the primary ball-handler and playmaker. Kind of a big point guard. Controls the pace well in the halfcourt and he can find the open shooters on drives or cutters to the basket. Good ball-handler who can dribble against defensive pressure. Good catch and shoot three-point shooter.
