D1 Action:
D1 featured a number of strong games. First off, Rice vs South Burlington. The athletic and high IQ PG Daniel Bogre headed the Rice attack over South Burlington, leading all scorers with 22. Two-way swingman Owen Eaton Owen Eaton 6'2" | CG Rice Memorial | 2025 State NLG added 15 points, and the top 2024 prospect, Drew Bessette Drew Bessette 6'7" | PF Rice Memorial | 2024 State NLG , added 11 points and a handful of boards.
In other D1 action, CVU carried on with their winning ways. With a balanced attack, CVU overcame a solid Colchester team. Sharpshooting wing Sam Sweeney provided 13, and the two towers of Tucker Tharpe Tucker Tharpe 6'6" | PF Champlain Valley | 2024 State NLG and Logan Vaughan combined for 22 points and 15+ boards. In addition, they worked together to lock down the inside/out big man, ’24 Zach Davis, who had 10 on the night. Freshman PG Freddie Bacon added 9 points for the Lakers.
Lastly, there was an evenly matched battle between the guard-heavy St. Johnsbury Academy, and the grit and grind style of BFA St. Albans. Sophomore PG Kerrick Medose provided 16 for St. J with crafty takes and sweet stroke off the catch. Plus, the highly dynamic guard, Rex Hauser Rex Hauser 6'5" | SF St. Johnsbury Academy | 2025 State NLG , added 10 with strong finishes at the cup. For BFA, it was well balanced. Noah Earl Noah Earl 6'2" | CG BFA-St. Albans | 2023 State NLG , Will Hughes, Liam Howrigan and Reed Stygles combined for 43 of BFA’s 51 points.
D2 Rivals:
Fair Haven remains undefeated behind team defense and a big-time performance from senior guard, Sawyer Ramey Sawyer Ramey 5'10" | PG Deerfield Academy | 2024 State NLG . Ramey went for 20 points on the night, with four 3’s and seemingly unlimited dimes and hockey assists. Beneficiaries of Ramey’s passing were Joe Buxton, who hit a couple threes and finished with 11 points, and the crafty 2-guard, Sam Barber. The mobile big man, Dez Krakowka, kept MSJ competitive with his physical and fundamental post game on both ends.
