Knights Come out Fast:
The Crestwood HS Knights came out fast and really looked to push the tempo against the Bruins. The Knights did just that and won 66-62 to advance to the Class 3A State Championship Game to play Wren HS later this week in Aiken. The Knights improved to (23-4) and are winners of 13 games in a row currently. The Bruins finish the season at (22-7).
Sophomore Makes Strong Showing:
Teon Tindal Teon Tindal 6'8" | PF Crestwood | 2025 State SC came to play today with his play around the basket. Tindal finished several buckets around the rim today including several dunks. Teon has a GREAT MOTOR and Upside on the floor. He was able to challenge and alter shots on the defensive end. Tindal has great hands and footwork around the paint area and plays the game as quick leaper off the floor. He runs the floor like a deer and fills the lane in transition very well.
Teon scored 17 points today according to my unofficial stats.
UNSIGNED SENIOR Guards:
College Coaches this game featured plenty of talent from the backcourt and UNSIGNED Seniors today. The Knights duo of Corean Nelson Corean Nelson 6'0" | CG Crestwood | 2023 State SC and Justin Rembert Justin Rembert 5'10" | PG Crestwood | 2023 State SC play so well together. Nelson and Rembert constantly bring the pressure and a side of CHAOS to the table for the Knights. Both of these young men like to play up-tempo and push the ball.
Nelson was able to change gears in the open court while getting to spots on the floor all day long. Rembert was able to connect on some three pointers and really showed no conscience at all times on the floor. These guards make the Knights go. Rembert scored 14 points while Nelson dropped 10 points in the win today.
Jacques Finishes Career:
Horaces Jacques Horaces Jacques 6'2" | PG Orangeburg-Wilkinson | 2023 State SC did everything possible from trying to keep playing for another day. Jacques a UNSIGNED Senior finished with 21 points in the loss. He was able to finish his career with 1,137 career points. Horaces is about as TOUGH as they come when it comes to be a competitor on the hardwood. He leaves nothing in the tank when it’s all said and done. Horaces makes tough shots, takes all sorts of bumps and bruises along with falls during the game.
He keeps the ball on the string, and he plays the game with fierce competitive edge at all times. Horaces averaged 15.7 ppg this season for the Bruins.
Washington Plays Solid Game:
Brykel Washington Brykel Washington 6'2" | CG Orangeburg-Wilkinson | 2023 State SC finished his career today for the Bruins with 16 points in the loss. Washington a long and rangy guard was able to connect on some short mid-range jumpers on the offensive end of the floor. He logged a lot of minutes here today. Brykel finished the season averaging 10.1 ppg. Washington picked up several deflections along the way which it led to steals going the other way.
Samuel Taking 3rd Program to State:
Crestwood HS Head Coach Aric Samuel has been in the State Championship Game before. He will be taking his third program to the State Championship this coming weekend. Back in 2002 and 2005 while at Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS as a girls coach, he helped the Lady Trojans win a State Championship. He helped Hartsville HS win back-to-back State Championships in 2012 and 2013.
