4 Appearances – Same Result Every time:
The Scott’s Branch HS Eagles have no problems getting to the state championship it just comes down to finishing business. The Eagles defeated the Estill HS Gators today 64-56 to claim its 4th straight Lower State Championship. Scott’s Branch will play Christ Church this coming week at USC-Aiken for the Class 1A State Championship.
Gibson Capping off a Great Career:
Prep Hoops first saw Randy Gibson Randy Gibson 6'1" | PG Scott's Branch | 2023 State SC play as a freshman for the Eagles. He helped the squad get to the State Championship vs Great Falls. Gibson a UNSIGNED Senior is a left-handed guard who plays the game with a ton of grit and toughness. Nicknamed RJ Gibson will turn the corner quickly with his first step to the rack. Gibson currently has scored over 1,200 career points for the Eagles. He will look to cap off his career this coming week in Aiken with one thing that he seems to be missing – 1st Place Trophy.
Gibson currently has played on three second place teams. Randy finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals today in the win over Estill HS today. Gibson has stuffed the stat sheet all season long averaging 20.3 ppg, 8.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the Eagles (20-3).
The Kind Brothers Were NOT so Kind to the Gators:
Jordan Kind Jordan Kind 6'0" | SG Scott's Branch | 2024 State SC a junior guard had a hot hand in the second half for the Eagles and walked away scoring 18 points today. Jordan entered the contest averaging 13.4 ppg this season.
Older brother Tyler Kind Tyler Kind 5'10" | PG Scott's Branch | 2023 State SC will play football next season at North Greenville University. Tyler a small left-handed guard finished with 8 points today while knocking down some mid-range jumpers. Kind entered the game as the second leading scorer on the team at 13.7 ppg.
Tough Farewell to Estill HS and the Gator Nation:
Estill HS basketball is now a memory unfortunately. The school will join forces and merge with Wade Hampton HS next fall to make Hampton County HS. The Gators finished the season at (19-9).
Mr. Chisolm is a Force in 2 Sports:
Kavon Chisolm Kavon Chisolm 6'4" | PF Hampton County | 2024 State SC has a great frame, and he surely isn’t afraid to use it at all. Chisholm is a rugged undersized post with a bit of quiet demeanor. He plays the game to the fullest on both ends of the floor and really knows how to use his body inside the paint when it comes to delivering a punch. Kavon has soft hands and seems to finish everything down low on the block. He does a tremendous job of absorbing contact and getting to the foul line. He averaged 15.5 ppg and 10.8 rebounds this past season for the Gators. Oh yeah he’s a stud on the football field.
Kavon scored 17 points today before fouling out with 3:29 left in the game.
