NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2023 Magic Markelle Fultz
For a player entering his freshmen season, Kade Williams Kade Williams 5'8" | PG Grainger | 2026 State TN showcased tremendous composure and lovely skill at the guard position. Like a true scorer, he always knows where the basket is prior to the catch. Whether he was shooting or not, Kade kept the defender honest and forced his man to play the shot, the pass, and the dribble at the same time.
Quick feet. The 2.93 second times ranked among the best for the 3/4-court sprint. For Kade his limiting factor will be strength. Can he prevent a big guard from getting to “his spots” as a perimeter defender? There are only two ways he can become the best on-ball defender that he can be, given his height will likely remain 6-foot or under. One, use his wonderfully quick feet and exceptional basketball brain. Two, bulk up in the chest/shoulders to become a boulder of a man.
Williams’ shooting form is very streamlined and quick. His movement off the basketball was ok, but will probably be better within a more structured offensive set. At these kind of events every player on the floor is trying to read the mind’s of the other four, and obviously there are no designed plays during open play. Still, it was immediately clear that Kade has a scorer’s heart and early indications are that his skills match that. Really tight handle.

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2023 Blazers Trendon Watford
Who could possibly know what Luke Sigmund Luke Sigmund 6'8" | PF Maryville | 2026 State TN ‘s basketball body will look like in two years? The talented, young hooper shot up to 6-foot-7, and will eventually “grow into” his body. In other words, so much physical development is still to come. It is very tricky to judge his strength against fully-grown guards, who are clearly topped out at their full height. Luke might even grow a little bit more. He does not currently have the upper body strength to bully his way to the low block. He will need to focus on that in the coming years in order to compete favorably at the varsity level.
Sigmund’s touch is ok, but the form falters when his shot is preceded by a dribble. He projects as a player that will both draw many fouls, long arms are foul magnets, while standing around the rim, and subsequently make many free throws. Refining his already repeatable shooting form will be very helpful to tack on those free throws.
Once Luke got his puppies moving, he was pretty fast, but the same problem all bigs have with the sport is speed. Can they keep up with the pace of play? Can they run the floor? Can they get back when their teammates lose the ball? Luke will earn most of his early varsity playing time with defense around the rim, but keeping himself on the floor will require improved quickness. He needs to get from a standing position to his top basketball speed quicker. Every young big man does.
Luke is an intriguing basketball prospect an enticing foundation of skills and size on which to build.
