The stage is set for another annual Mosaic Shootout hosted at Bartow High School which will feature various notable schools from across West to East Florida. Prep Hoops scout Andrew Johnson will provide the tournament schedule preview with players to know and attend the event for further analysis.
Clearwater vs Discovery
5:00 p.m.
The Clearwater Tornadoes (8-14) will kick off the Stinger Classic tournament games against Discovery (12-12). Clearwater is led by junior combo guard Nicholas Simes, a lockdown defender who can score from three-range or at the basket. The Spartans are led by senior forward Angel Canuelas, averaging 18.9 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 85% from the free throw line and 42% from three range.
Port Charlotte vs George Jenkins
6:15 p.m.
Port Charlotte (14-7) will take the over hour-long trip to Bartow High for a matchup against the George Jenkins Eagles (10-16). The Pirates come into the game on a four-game win streak while being led by sophomore guard Jahyere Chin, who is averaging 18.0 points and 4.4 assists. For the Eagles, junior guard Antonio Wright Jr. is leading his team with 15.2 points.
Windermere vs Bartow
7:30 p.m.
The Bartow Yellowjackets (13-10) will be the lone home team as the host of the tournament and will compete against Windermere (17-6) on Friday night. Bartow is led by 6’0 sophomore guard EJ Horton, averaging 13.4 points and 4.0 assists. They also have the energetic 6’3, 198-pound small forward, Jayson Williams, with 12.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. For Windermere, the Wolverines are led by Ta’Veon Jones Ta’Veon Jones 5'7" | PG Windermere | 2024 State FL with 16.4 points and 5.7 assists.
Orlando Christian Prep vs Lakeland
8:45 p.m.
This will be one of the premiere matchups throughout the tournament because of the sheer number of athletes and talented players on both teams. OCP is led by the 6’4, 175-pound junior state champion Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6'5" | SG Orlando Christian Prep | 2024 State #177 Nation FL who has been a bright spot for OCP, averaging 19.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The Dreadnaughts are led by Navy Football commit Rolijah Hardy Rolijah Hardy 6'0" | CG Lakeland | 2023 FL , averaging 15.4 points with 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
