Ayden Goll – 2024 – G – Milton
Goll is quietly having one of the better seasons in the state that people aren’t talking about. While he ran out of steam at the end, Goll still scored 19 of Milton’s 55 points and impressed with his ability to create and shoot on the ball. A savvy, crafty guard with burst and in-the-gym range, you’ve gotta respect both the dribble drive and the outside shot with Goll. He’ll kill defenders who close out poorly, but the lefty has a smooth and quick first step to blow by his man and get into the paint when they overextend. Goll is very good at manipulating defenders with his eyes as well. He’ll get you thinking shot and then drive to the hole or vice versa. Throughout the game, Goll just collapsed Stoughton’s defense and was able to find shooters for open, rhythm 3’s. Milton lost its engine in Jack Campion after last season, but Goll has admirably stepped into that role as a junior.
Jay Johnson Jay Johnson 6'4" | SF Stoughton | 2025 State WI – 2025 – SG – Stoughton
Johnson made some plays in the second half to help keep the Vikings in the driver’s seat. The sophomore guard came up with 11 points, including two momentum-changing three-point play opportunities the old-fashioned way. Really intriguing body type here. Johnson is listed at 6-foot-3, but has some very long arms and a frame you can still stack on quite a bit of weight too. By his senior year, Johnson could be quite the physical specimen. Averaging around eight points per game this season, Johnson appears to have taken some nice steps forward. In the halcourt, Johnson can get to the rim in limited dribbles, doesn’t shy away from contact, and can serve as an extra ball handler/creator when needed.

Matt Kirk Matt Kirk 6'4" | SG Milton | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – Milton
Kirk has really filled out and added nicely to what was a raw frame for the last three years in high school. He’s now a significantly bigger, stronger kid and that showed up on the defensive end in Saturday’s loss. Taking on Stoughton’s leading scorer, Kirk did an outstanding job of neutralizing one of the better shooters in the state. Kirk fought through screens, didn’t allow comfortable catches, and even took away post up opportunities as well. Felt like Kirk also stuck to the game plan and handed off his man to a help defender when required. A UW-Platteville commit, Kirk also had the energy to give Milton 18 points as well. The 6-foot-4 guard knocked down some 3’s late to make it interesting.

Sawyer Schipper Sawyer Schipper 6'1" | SG Stoughton | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Stoughton
Schipper dropped a game-high 26 points in Saturday’s win. Any time Stoughton needed a big shot, it felt like Shchipper delivered. Milton just had no answer over the final 10 minutes as Schipper notched a new career-high in scoring. What I liked most, Schipper acted like he had been there before. Having maybe the best game of his career, Schipper’s demeanor didn’t change, there were no heat checks, and the junior guard just kept going to what was working. A strong, athletic guard with a sweet pull-up game, Schipper sets up defenders by lowering his shoulder and getting them leaning or backpedaling. You put a smaller guard on Schipper as Milton often did, he’ll plow his way right to the rim, able to brush off contact like it’s not even there. Having scored in double figures in 10 of Stoughton’s last 12 games, Schipper does so without overcomplicating the game. He takes what’s there, goes after high percentage shots, and doesn’t let his foot off the gas pedal when shots are falling.
