The Tigers came out of the gate with an impressive performance. They led 21-3 after one and 40-18 at halftime with 9 3’s made. It was more the same with a running clock in the 4th quarter where all five starters sat. Their youth is impressive with two freshmen and three sophomore starters all scoring. They ended up winning 70-44.
Here were the standouts from the varsity
Tahir Larocque SF 6’3 2023 Hamilton
The star of the night for the Huskies was Tahir. He scored 18 points and showed off his big motor to grab out of area rebounds in heavy traffic. Most of his points came in the paint and almost everything is towards the basket with highly contested jumpers. He defends the 3-5 for them and is their glue guy.
Charlie Luther SG 6’1 2023 Hamilton
Another one of the rare senior players on the team. He is the teams sniper from the perimeter. He can catch and shoot from the three point line with a super quick trigger. He actually hit one at the end of a quarter and was one of the players who didn’t back down.
Nazir Davis Nazir Davis 6'0" | SG Eduprize | 2024 State AZ Hamilton
A physical junior guard is their most gifted player. He uses his strength, speed and athleticism to get into the lane and he shows good body control in the lane. He has a polished floater and can make plays for others. He drove and kicked it plus dumped it off in the lane to a post player for scores.
Elijah St. Onge Elijah St. Onge 6'1" | PG Hamilton | 2024 State AZ Hamilton
The top ball handler of the team is a good passer who plays smartly off the pick and roll game. He has long arms to collect steals and despite his thinner frame, he can finish off tougher layups.
Makai Frazier-Taylor Makai Frazier-Taylor 5'10" | CG Hamilton | 2025 State AZ Hamilton
A lefty sophomore combo guard is a talented scorer. He can pull-up off the dribble from mid-range and is very fluid on the break with some speed and athleticism. He can drive it and find a cutter with nice court vision and he will definitely be featured more next year. He is their official six man but gets starter type of minutes on most nights.
Andrew Maier Andrew Maier 6'3" | PF Hamilton | 2025 State AZ Hamilton
A high motored undersized power forward scores it inside on layups and put backs. He is super active on the glass and will spring up to keep balls alive. He will almost throw himself to the ball and isn’t afraid of contact.
Bear Tenney C 6’5 2025 Hamilton
A strong football player is the team’s post presence. He gives them some meat and real strength in the middle. He sets strong picks, runs the court and will rebound in his area. He has a soft mid-range jumper off the catch surprisingly and just fights inside the paint.
Brayden Barrett Brayden Barrett 6'4" | SF Millennium | 2026 State AZ Millennium
A strong framed wing forward can catch and shoot from the three point line with the best of them. He is one of the prettier shooters from the forwards position in the class. He rebounds well in his area and smartly gets himself open without the ball. His toughness, skill and IQ make him a player to track.
Kingston Tosi Kingston Tosi 6'7" | SF Millennium | 2025 State AZ Millennium
A highly productive forward plays inside and on the perimeter. He grabs rebounds in and out of his area and scores it efficiently or gets fouled. He has good hands to catch difficult passes and is very crafty around the basket. He will block shots in his area and plays with energy.
Cameron Holmes Cameron Holmes 6'5" | SF Millennium | 2026 State AZ Millennium
A bigger wing with college three point range. He can score on alley-oops, with set lob plays and fast break dunks. He is a very good passer who is unselfish. He sees over the top of the defense and can be that bigger facilitator. His passing is what he has improved the most since the beginning of the season. He will also protect the rim with blocks and grab out of area rebounds.
JT Amundsen JT Amundsen 5'8" | CG Millennium | 2025 State AZ Millennium
The teams sniper is a catch and shoot gunner with real range. He rattles off triples when left open one by one. Once he gets run off the line, he will take one or two dribbles and rise up from mid-range. His skill and IQ are super high, as you would expect a son of a coach would be.
Quincy Everson Quincy Everson 6'1" | CG Millennium | 2025 State AZ Millennium
A versatile guard plays on or off the ball easily. He can catch and shoot from beyond the arc and he has some shift to his handle to create some separation. He has a polished runner and plays the game from the neck up. He can take pressure off of Holmes and Amundsen passing, handling and shooting.
