The event featured teams from multiple states and was absolutely loaded with talent. Here’s a look at part one of the standouts from the Pennsylvania and Maryland teams.
Kahlil Singleton | 6’2” CG | Scotland
Singleton is known as one of the top shooters in the EPL, and he was not shy as he got up more threes than anyone in the event but still shot a good percentage from deep. He has the ability to knock it down off the catch but also can size up his defender and create space to get shots up off the bounce, he has in the gym range and he’s so good from deep he can literally bring his team back when they’re down by himself. That was the case in their game against Massanutten where they were trailing big at half but he brought them back by going 10-for-22 from deep and finishing with 30 points in a game they eventually lost by 12.
Tylik Weeks | 6’7” PF | Scotland
Weeks has stepped up and become one of the most productive players in the EPL with his mismatch ability at his size and the way he can work both on the perimeter and in the paint. He’s a big body who creates space down low to finish and rebound, he can step out on the perimeter where he can knock down shots and he’s surprisingly shifty with the ball in his hands for his size. He finished with 21 points and 7 rebounds in their loss to Massanutten and had 23 points and 9 rebounds in their loss to Combine.
Aaron Davis Aaron Davis 6'5" | SF Hudson Catholic | 2023 PA | 6’6” WF | First Love
While First Love only played one game this weekend which was a route over Believe Prep, they showed their firepower led by Davis as the team put up 122 points and made 18 three-pointers. Davis didn’t have his best game but the 6’6” Bryant commit showed his deep range and ability to get set quickly on the move, he got downhill and finished at and above the rim and he stuffed the stat sheet across the board. He finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in 22 minutes of play.
Jake Dimichele | 6’5” WG | First Love
I have given Dimichele the nickname of “Park Buckets” because the way he scores the ball is so effortless it’s like he’s playing pickup outside, and he wasted no time in their win as he came out on fire and set the tone early. He started out by cashing in a couple of triples early, then showed his ability to use fakes and put it on the deck to get to spots in the midrange and then he showed his ability to finish at the rim and through contact as well. He finished with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in their win.
Seth Brown | 6’4” WG | First Love
Brown is somewhat of an x-factor for this First Love team, because when he’s shooting the ball well they can really spread the floor and have so many guys that can hurt you from beyond the arc. He was locked in this weekend as he shot it very well from deep, worked well off the ball to get open coming off of screens and making good cuts and he showed a ton of confidence when he was left open. He finished with 23 points going 7-for-11 from deep in their win.
Chandler Wilson | 6’4” CG | First Love
Wilson is another guy who can change the entire game for First Love as he has good size at the guard position and can score it in a lot of different ways. He’s a good ball handler who can handle and get downhill in transition, he is a good athlete who can play above the rim and has good hang time to finish in traffic and he’s a good rebounder and defender for his position too. He finished with 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field and pitched in 5 rebounds as well.
