It featured both high school and post grad teams from all over the east coast including Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Here, we take a look at part two of the many standouts from the North Carolina schools in attendance.
Torey Alston Torey Alston 6'8" | PF Winston-Salem Christian | 2023 State NC | 6’8” WF | Winston Salem Christian HS ’23
Winston Salem is one of the top teams in North Carolina this year and have played an unbelievably tough schedule, and Alston has been a huge reason why. The 6’9” Sam Houston State commit is a walking mismatch as he has the size and frame of a big man with the game of a super talented wing. He can put it on the deck and get downhill where he’s an excellent finisher, he rebounds well on both ends of the floor and he plays with a great motor and does the little things too.
Kany Tchanda Kany Tchanda 6'9" | C Sunrise Christian Academy | 2024 #295 Nation NC | 6’11” C | Winston Salem Christian HS ’24
Tchanda is quickly rising as one of the top big men in the country, and he has so much potential moving forward and is starting to realize it now. The 6’11” big man is a load in the paint who can score it through contact, he’s an excellent rim protector and rebounder and he has good mobility with the ability to run the floor and switch defensively. He has a budding skillset that will make him even more sought after as he continues to develop.
Lewis Walker Lewis Walker 6'6" | PF Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State #178 Nation NC | 6’7” F | Winston Salem Christian HS ’24
Walker is one of the most fun players to watch as a scout because he doesn’t exactly look like his game would be the way it is but he can flat out hoop. The 6’7” forward has a big frame that allows him to bang and finish in the paint, he’s surprisingly shifty off the bounce and can get downhill or create space and he can rebound and protect the paint too. He gives off the “big guard” vibes while also being able to go to the post and he is a walking mismatch.
Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 6'5" | SG Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State NC | 6’5” CG | Winston Salem Christian HS ’24
Washington has really turned the corner over the last year or so and is one of the more talented all-around guard prospects you’ll come across. The 6’5” combo has terrific size on the perimeter, he scores the ball in different ways from all three levels and he’s grown into his body with a nice frame and good athleticism. He can do a little bit of everything on the floor and impacts the game across the board.
Deangelo Canty | 6’8” PF | Winston Salem Christian Postgrad ‘23
Canty had a huge game in Winston Salem’s close win over Fork Union, and the 6’8” forward is trending in the right way and should be a guy coaches should start to take a look at. At 6’8” he’s a strong forward who has developed his perimeter skill set to be able to put it on the deck and make shots, he can get in the paint where he’s a good finisher and he plays with a good motor and energy. He finished with 27 points, making 4 three’s in their win.
