It featured both high school and post grad teams from all over the east coast including Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Here, we take a look at part one of the may standouts from the Virginia schools in attendance.
Diarmid Stewart Diarmid Stewart 6'6" | SF Blue Ridge | 2023 State VA | 6’6” F | Blue Ridge ’23
Stewart has been plagued by injuries since the football season but he looked like his old self in their win over Hargrave varsity where he was one of their top scorers. He showed his versatility with his ability to score it on the perimeter and in the paint, he played with a good motor on both ends of the floor and he made a lot of hustle plays to help his team too.
Kamren Martin Kamren Martin 6'4" | CG Blue Ridge | 2024 State VA | 6’5” CG | Blue Ridge ’24
Martin is quickly emerging as one of the top guards in the 2024 class in VA and I wouldn’t be surprised if he blows up this summer with college coaches. The 6’5” combo has great size on the perimeter and is quick and shifty with the ball in his hands, he gets good elevation on his shot and is able to knock it down with little to no room and his size and athleticism gives him a leg up defensively on the perimeter.
Shanon Simango Shanon Simango 6'6" | PF Blue Ridge | 2024 State #301 Nation VA | 6’7” PF | Blue Ridge ’24
Simango is the heart and soul of this team as the 6’7” big man plays like an absolute giant and brings great energy and production to his team. He plays with a great motor as he runs the floor hard and rebounds everything he can get his hands on, he is an athletic finisher in transition and on dump offs and he gets to the line often where he’s really improved his free throws.
Colby White Colby White 6'5" | SF Blue Ridge | 2025 State VA | 6’4” WF | Blue Ridge ’25
White is emerging as a big time prospect in a 2025 class that is looking very talented early and his name will be in the mix with college coaches here soon. The 6’4” wing from Buckingham has a great frame with long arms and is a fluid athlete, he can get to spots off the bounce and can make shots from all three levels and he’s a good athlete who can make plays on both ends of the court. He finished with 18 points in their win over Hargrave.
Carmelo Pacheco | 6’4” WG | Fork Union ’23
Pacheco continues to show that he is perhaps the most pure shooter in the Elite Prep League, as he has consistently made shots from behind the arc and doesn’t go through long cold streaks as a shooter. At 6’4” he has good size on the wing and knows how to move off the ball to get open, he utilizes pump fakes and side dribbles to relocate for good looks and he has an effortless jumper with good range and great form. He hit 9 three-pointers in their win over Middle Georgia Prep.
Reece D’Allesandro | 6’1” PG | Fork Union ’23
D’Allesandro has emerged over the course of the season as their go-to guy at the point guard position and he brings a toughness and IQ to his team that they’ve needed. He’s skilled with the ball in his hands as he handles pressure well, is shifty enough to create in late clock situations and he can knock down shots from deep consistently. He was big for them down the stretch in their win over Middle GA Prep, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.
