Who Are The Favorites?
The favorite for the Class 1A title is wide open, as the defending state champion Bradford Tornadoes moved up to Class 3A during the new classification assignments so there will be a new champion crowned in 2023. It could come down to these four schools; Wildwood, Williston, Paxton and Hawthorne battling it out in the final four in Lakeland.
Which Team Has The Most Difficult Path?
The Wildwood Wildcats have the most difficult path, as they clinched the No. 1 seed in Class 1A, Region 4 but will have to go on the road to Vanguard (Lake Wales) as the Wildcats failed to win their district championship.
Who Are The Breakout Seniors To Watch For?
Keep an eye on 6’3 guard Greg Maxwell Greg Maxwell 6'2" | SG Trinity Catholic | 2023 State FL who can go get a double-double on any given night, he shows explosive athleticism and is very quick when he has the basketball in his hands. Also keep an eye on 6’7 small forward Tristan Watson Tristan Watson 6'5" | SF Jay | 2023 State FL who can play multiple positions on the offensive end, as well as guard positions 1 through 5 on the defensive end.
Who Are The Top Juniors To Watch For?
Keep an eye on 6’3 guard Ashton Mosley who has length and on the defensive side makes it difficult for the opposition to beat him. Also keep an eye on 6’6 small forward Kyler Lamb who can score at all three levels and keeps the game under control.
