There were several changes within our Top 200 prospects including several new names to the rankings and other players who saw large jumps. We also still have an additional Watch List of over 100 prospects who deserve recognition around the state of Indiana. In this article we will be taking a look at part two of a two-part series highlighting the top stock-risers in the recent rankings update.
Shaun Arnold Shaun Arnold 6'5" | PF Ben Davis | 2023 State IN (Ben Davis H.S.): We’ve said it often here on this website ever since Arnold had a breakout summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit. There is nobody in the state of Indiana that plays with a higher motor. HIs non-stop work ethic is what makes him an elite rebounder at 6’5″, an incredibly versatile defender, and all-around energizer that brings infectious toughness to the floor at all times. Arnold is the X-Factor for 24-0 Ben Davis averaging 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The St. Thomas Aquinas signee jumped over 25 spots from #66 to #40 in the recent Prep Hoops Indiana Prospect Rankings update.
Elhadj Diallo Elhadj Diallo 6'2" | SG Brownsburg | 2023 State IN (Brownsburg H.S.): Diallo is the type of player that can jump nearly 20 spots in the rankings and still make you immediately feel like he might be too low. The super athletic 6’2″ guard averaging 16.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for 18-2 Brownsburg. He is a relentless driver to the basket where he can play above the rim, has proven to be a capable three-point shooter knocking in 36% on one make per game, and has the physical tools to translate right away defensively. If there is one player who deserves scholarship offers between now and the end of this high school season it is Diallo.
Aidan Franks Aidan Franks 6'2" | SG Wapahani | 2023 State IN (Wapahani H.S.): There are plenty of really talented guards left on the board for small college programs to recruit here in Indiana. Franks is as talented as any of them. The 6’2″ sharpshooter is a big-time scorer with sneaky athleticism and ever-improving skills off of the dribble. Franks averages 18.2 points per game for an 18-1 Wapahani team that is ranked #2 in Class 2A. He is also knocking down 40% of his attempts from three-point range. Already highly recruited by in-state Division III’s and NAIA programs, Franks is going to make some backcourt better at the next level. He jumped from #59 to #48 in our rankings update.
Kyron Kaopuiki Kyron Kaopuiki 6'3" | SG Homestead | 2023 State IN (Homestead H.S.): The Homestead Spartans lost Mr. Basketball runner-up Fletcher Loyer who is now starting for Purdue, but quickly reloaded with a dynamic backcourt. This senior guard is a big reason for their continued success averaging 16.1 points per game while knocking in 63-136 shots from beyond the arc. He is a truly elite three-point shooting threat with good size and athleticism at 6’3″. Without a doubt one of the best small college prospects in the state of Indiana. Kaopuiki rose from #69 to #43 in the recent rankings update.
Luke McBride Luke McBride 6'1" | PG Norwell | 2023 State IN (Norwell H.S.): There aren’t many tougher, high basketball IQ guards in the state than this coach’s son. Playing for his dad at Norwell, and following in his footsteps by continuing his career at Bethel, McBride is the star of an 18-2 Knights squad that has been a mainstay in the Class 3A Top 5 this season. He is an excellent ball handler, shoots it at a high level, and rebounds his position as well as anyone in the senior class. McBride jumped nearly 20 spots from #70 to #52 in our Class of 2023 Prospect Rankings update.
Gavin Wisley Gavin Wisley 6'8" | PF Bloomington South | 2023 State IN (Bloomington H.S. South): Anytime you have a 6’8″ forward who has high-level shooting ability it is going to get college coaches intrigued. Wisley is an excellent catch-and-shoot threat who is really effective on the pick-and-pop. He had an outstanding summer and has transitioned right into leading Bloomington South to a 16-6 record. Wisley holds a couple of scholarship offers and has plenty of Division III schools vying for his services next season. The 6’8″ sharpshooter jumped from #71 to #58 overall in our recent prospect rankings update.
