There were several changes within our Top 200 prospects including several new names to the rankings and other players who saw large jumps. We also still have an additional Watch List of over 100 prospects who deserve recognition around the state of Indiana. In this article we will be taking a look at part two of a two-part series highlighting the top new names in the recent rankings update.
Damarion Anderson Damarion Anderson 6'3" | SF Elkhart | 2023 State IN (Elkhart H.S.): It has been a tough season for Elkhart, but Anderson has certainly done his part. The long, athletic wing averages 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. He is an above the rim at the end of his drives, crashes the glass very well from the perimeter, and has the physical tools to be a high level defender. Very, very good right hand driver. Deserving of his debut in the Prep Hoops Indiana Prospect Rankings.
Cam Brown Cam Brown 6'6" | PF Beech Grove | 2023 State IN (Beech Grove H.S.): A 6’6″ forward with the ability to stretch the floor, Brown has burst onto the scene this season averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for the defending Class 3A state champions. Most impressively, he is 32-71 from three-point range with real pick-and-pop ability. He has stepped up as a primary piece for the Hornets who are once again in the Top 10 of the Class 3A rankings. Could be an interesting prospect for a Division III to take a look at late in the recruiting process.
Kamea Chandler Kamea Chandler 5'10" | PG Guerin Catholic | 2023 State IN (Guerin Catholic): This senior guard has played his way into some small college interest with a strong season for the 13-8 Golden Eagles. Chandler is averaging 10.7 points and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 37% from the floor. He is an very good right-hand driver who attacks closeouts, creates for himself off of the bounce, and finishes at a high level around the rim at the end of his drives. Intriguing prospect for Division III programs to get on if they still need some ball handling.
Drew Heckaman Drew Heckaman 6'4" | SG Warsaw | 2023 State IN (Warsaw H.S.): Heckman is a talented guard for Warsaw and has been a big reason for their solid season to this point. He has a smooth jump shot, creates for himself off of the dribble, and has the physical tools to guard out on the perimeter. His debut in the Prep Hoops Indiana Prospect Rankings is well deserved with his strong play during his senior season.
Bauer Maple Bauer Maple 5'10" | PG Maconaquah | 2023 State IN (Maconaquah H.S.): Anytime you see someone scoring 26.8 points per game you have to stop and see what exactly is going on. Bauer is a shifty, smaller lead guard that has absolutely stuffed the stat sheet this season for Maconaquah. Along with his 26.8 points per game which is among the best in the state, he also averages 4.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 5.2 steals per game. He has connected on 51 three-pointers this season as well. Maple can flat out put the ball in the basket.
Korbyn Sloggett Korbyn Sloggett 6'0" | SG Lebanon | 2023 State IN (Lebanon H.S.): Sloggertt is a versatile guard who has emerged as a potential prospect for the next level. He leads a very balanced Lebanon team in scoring at 10.6 points per game to go along with 2.9 assists. The 6’0″ guard is a talented playmaker who shoots 35% from three-point range as well. He is a big reason why the Tigers are 15-5 and the favorite to win Sectional 25.
