Kyle Morgan
Kyle Morgan has been one of the more productive combo guards in Houston over the course of this season, making a name for himself in a super competitive district. In a rivalry district game against CE King, Kyle dropped 14 points on 5/8 shooting and made a pair of free throws from the foul stripe. Morgan has shown that he has great court awareness on both ends of the floor, making a difference for his team on offense and defense alike. Kyle is one of the most consistent shooters I have seen this season in the entire city of Houston, never afraid to shoot the ball when the defender gives him space. Kyle should continue to make great strides as Summer Creek will continue to make a hard playoff push at the end of this season and will look to him to be one of the leaders on this Bulldogs squad.
Jamey Ty Beston
Jamey Ty Beston
Ty makes a difference on this Eagles team as a combo guard with great size and length and his intensity on the defensive end is unmatched. He is never afraid to be physical with his defender and is always giving 110 percent every play of the game. Beston poured in 16 points on 6/8 from the field and 3/3 free throws in a dominant 80-47 win over St. Pius X for St. Thomas. Ty is a very coachable athlete and is always willing to do whatever is needed of him to help the team succeed on the court! I always look foward to watching the Eagles take the court every time I get the chance, because I know they will bring the intensity and energy to the floor EVERY single time! Ty will continue to ride this hot momentum into the playoffs where St. Thomas will need it the most!
Jaylon Jackson
Jaylon Jackson
Jaylon is a big time leader for this CE King Panthers squad both on and off the court. In a big time district victory over rival Summer Creek, Jackson dropped 16 points on 6/9 shooting and made 3/5 free throws from the foul stripe. He also contributed in other ways, notching 5 steals and playing deny ball defense on his man the whole contest, despite being undersized compared to his offensive matchup. Jackson continues to make an impact for himself in district play as an unsigned 2023 senior. Expect Jaylon to continue his production throughout the end of the season on both ends of the floor every time CE King takes the court.
Elijah McNeil
Elijah McNeil
Elijah was a big time playmaker and scorer in his teams close 66-79 loss to Pasadena Memorial in early February. McNeil is great at using a variety of dribble moves to skate past his defender and effectively drive to the basket. Elijah finished the game with 24 points on 9/14 shooting and made 5/6 foul shots to round out his scoring. He also came away with 7 rebounds, crashing the boards on both ends when his team needed physicality out of him. McNeil made a huge impact as a physical and vocal leader for Pasadena this year in every game played, motivating his teammates when needed and doing whatever was asked of him.
Cory Nichols
Cory Nichols
Cory made a name for himself in district play this season with the Bulldogs, notching several high profile games where he made an impact in multiple ways. One of his more recent top performances was against North Shore on January 24th, where he finished the contest with 15 points on a consistent 4/5 shooting and 4/5 free throws. Cory also came down with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, as well as diming out 5 assists. This was a well rounded stat line for Nichols, as he showed that he can impact the game in more ways than just scoring. Cory will continue to try to make a statement for himself as Summer Creek continues their playoff push with momentum in tow.
