Aydan Perdue
One of the senior leaders on this experienced Katy Tigers squad, Aydan makes a difference every time he steps out on the court. Matched up against a tough Seven Lakes team and AJ Bates, Perdue scored 13 points in the contest on 5/8 shooting and went 1/2 from the foul stripe. He also added 6 assists and crashed the boards with a total of 8 rebounds. Despite the blowout loss, Aydan’s impact was definitely felt on both ends of the floor. Perdue will continue to make waves as he looks to gather collegiate interest towards the end of the season and only keeps up this impressive level of play.
Alejandro Vargas
Alejandro Vargas
Alejandro was a big time scorer for his team in their district rivalry game against Cypress Lakes. In a hostile away environment, Vargas was effective at driving to the basket as well as shooting off the dribble and moving without the ball. Alejandro came away with 20 points on 7/9 from the field and sank 5/6 free throws at the line. Vargas is highly underrated in a tough Cypress district where the competition is fierce and every game matters. Alejandro is one of the senior leaders on this Tigers team and will continue to make an impact as the season comes to a close.
Jake is an all around impressive player to watch out of St. Thomas High School in Houston. Pike makes it all happen out on the court, with an impressive outside shot and great ability to move without the ball on the offensive end. He is also very vocal on defense and will often be heard as the loudest player on the floor. Jake’s full scoring was on display against St. Pius X where he made 5/5 three pointers in the first half and continued to shoot 7/10 from the field throughout the end of the game and came away with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a blowout 80-47 win. In my opinion, Jake would be a steal for any college or university that is looking to get a diligent, hard working player who is very coachable. Pike will look to ride this impressive momentum into the playoff scene here in the next month or so and with the Houston Defenders over the summer AAU season.
Donovan Matthews
Donovan Matthews
Donovan was a force to be reckoned with in his Tigers squad’s game against district rival Cypress Lakes. Matthews could not be stopped underneath the basket and just had his way with smaller defenders the entire contest. Matthews ended the game with 19 points on 8/11 shooting and also netted 5/8 free throws from the foul stripe. Donovan will continue to raise his stock with FAM Elite over this AAU summer season as well and will only continue to get better off this impressive performance, proving he is easily one of the top forwards in this district.
Vincent Doucet
Vincent Doucet
Vincent put on a strong offensive performance in his team’s tough loss to district foe St. Thomas High School, scoring 16 points on 6/7 shooting and nailing 2/2 at the foul stripe. Doucet showed he can score from all three levels of the floor, hitting a couple of shots beyond the arc and also driving to the basket or pulling up from the midrange. Vincent showcased his lateral quickness on the defensive side as well, notching a couple steals and scoring on the fast break. Doucet will look to prove he can continue this consistency of scoring in the playoffs coming up soon after the season concludes.
