I was in Bloomington on Friday night for the big Bloomington North vs Bloomington South game. Then, I went North to South Vermillion on Saturday as the Wildcats took on Seeger. Let’s take a look at the top 2023 prospects from those two games last week.
Luke Lindeman Luke Lindeman 6’6″ | SF Bloomington North | 2025 State IN is a talented sophomore shooting guard who has burst onto the scene in the past couple of weeks with a pair of 20-point games on Friday and against Franklin Community. Lindeman is an outstanding shooter who is lights out on the catch and shoot. He finished 4-5 from three in this one. He also showed patience but willingness to attack the hole and nice moves in the paint. He is going to be in control of this Bloomington North team going forward, and he may be putting everyone on notice with a big sophomore year.
Jack Moulton Jack Moulton 6’4″ | PF South Vermillion | 2024 IN is a lanky power forward who is tough inside and can rebound the basketball well. He struggled this game due to foul trouble as he is prone to picking up some dumb ones due to decision making. However, he has shown spots of brightness this season with good post touch and footwork. He could blossom going into senior year with a young South Vermillion team that is on the rise.
Taye Spears Taye Spears 5’10” | PG Bloomington South | 2025 IN is a smaller point guard who stepped up for Bloomington South on Friday night. Spears has a nice shooting stroke, and you could tell that he gained confidence with every shot that dropped. He also has great touch around the rim and looks to score the ball. Spears finished with 12 points in the loss, but he stepped up to keep the Panthers in the game when nobody else seemed to be able to put the ball in the hole.
Aden Wallace Aden Wallace 6’0″ | SG South Vermillion | 2025 IN is a sophomore point guard who missed a couple games at the start of the year, but he is back and making an impact. Wallace has a long wingspan and a great shooting stroke. He does have the tendency to force some bad shots as a young player, but when he gets the ball in rhythm, he usually knocks it down. Most of his mistakes right now are just due to experience, so when he can calm down and stay under control, he could be a very key piece for South Vermilion.
Michael Winchester Michael Winchester 6'3" | SG Benton Central | 2024 IN
Michael Winchester Michael Winchester 6'3" | SG Benton Central | 2024 IN
Michael Winchester Michael Winchester 6’3″ | SG Benton Central | 2024 IN is a smart wing who just seemed to always be in the right place for Seeger on Saturday night. Winchester can knock it down from the outside, and he is always under control. He moves well without the ball and is very unselfish, finding his open teammates when his shot isn’t there. Just a very fundamentally sound player. Winchester finished with 19 in the win on 6-11 shooting and also added 4 steals on the defensive end of the floor.
