Booker becomes McDonald’s All American
The most newsworthy thing to come out of Indiana high school basketball scene was that five-star, Cathedral forward Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN made the the prestigious McDonald’s All American Roster. He will be a part of the East roster. As far as prospects go, Booker is arguably the best in the 2023 class. He had a major, breakout summer which would eventually lead him to committing to Michigan State. He has been having a solid year for Cathedral and is a big reason why the Irish are 12-3 on the year so far. Booker and Cathedral will be playing at Louisville Western (Ky.) on Saturday.
Benter putting up major numbers
Incase you are unaware, 2024 wing Jack Benter Jack Benter 6'4" | SG Brownstown Central | 2024 State #121 Nation IN is a scoring machine. In Brownstown’s last two games, Benter has put up a combined 99 points. In the win over Silver Creek the past weekend, Benter broke the all-time Brownstown scoring record, previously held by his dad, dropping 48 points and then followed it up with a 51 point performance at Austin last night. The Purdue commit is playing at an elite level and is a shoe-in to be named a junior all-star. Brownstown had Charlestown on Friday.
Mishawaka Marian beats John Glenn
The Knights continue to arguably be the best team up north. Mishawaka Marian picked up their 15th win of the season by beating John Glenn 52-41. 2023 point guard Deaglan Sullivan Deaglan Sullivan 6'2" | PG Mishawaka Marian | 2023 State IN was the leading scorer with 13 point while his teammate, 2023 SF Dareon Thorton added 12 points. John Glenn dropped to 9-7 on the year. Mishawaka Marian has a date with South Bend Washington on 1/27.
