Zion Paleo
Zion Paleo
Zion Paleo had a steady performance for Orange Lutheran on Saturday in a difficult loss to Pacifica Christian. Paleo finished the game 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists. Zion exhibited his strong passing ability in this one both in the pick and roll and against zone. Paleo was also able to show off his body control, and ability to change his release point to get shots over/around bigger defenders.
David Manea David Manea 6’6″ | SF Orange Lutheran | 2023 CA-S had a workman like game for Orange Lutheran on Saturday in a tough 54-53 loss to Pacifica Christian. Manea chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block. Whenever Orange Lutheran needed a big bucket or rebound they seemed to be able to turn to Manea in this one. While he may not be able to carry your offense, David helps a team in a ton of different ways and that should continue at the next level.
Highlights
Andrew Nagy
Andrew Nagy
Andrew Nagy performed well for Orange Lutheran on Saturday albeit in a tough 54-53 loss to Pacifica Christian. Nagy finished this one with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Andrew has great touch/feel around the basket but I would love to see him add more post moves to his arsenal as well as develop more confidence in his jump shot. Nagy is conceivably quick enough to take bigs away from the basket but needs to give defenders a reason to come out first.
EJ Spillman EJ Spillman 6’3″ | CG Pacifica Christian/OC | 2025 State #396 Nation CA-S played a tough game on Saturday for Pacifica Christian in a thrilling 54-53 victory over Orange Lutheran. Spillman finished the game with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and was 3/5 from the Free Throw line. EJ’s size and ability to handle allow him to get into the paint almost at will so as his offensive decision making fully develops, his impact on that side of the ball should only improve. Spillman is also the emotional spark plug of his team as he is more than willing to take charges, seek out contact on the offensive end, and genuinely enjoy his teammates success.
Prince Oseya Prince Oseya 6’10” | C Modesto Christian | 2023 State CA-N produced a dominant performance on Saturday night for Modesto Chrisitan in a 65-41 victory over Liberty (NV). Oseya finished the game with 19 points, 14 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Prince showed off great quickness and agility for someone pushing 7″0 but one of the most impressive aspects of his game is his ability to find open shooters while rolling to the basket. Oseya’s vision on top of his other gifts make him an incredibly intriguing player for coaches at the next level.
Dedan Thomas Jr.
Dedan Thomas Jr.
Dedan Thomas Jr. was the lone bright spot for Liberty (NV) on Saturday night in a difficult 65-41 loss to Modesto Christian. Thomas Jr. scored from all three levels in this one finishing with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and was 5/7 from the Free Throw line. Dedan relentlessly attacked the basket in the face of heavy pressure and was able to finish with either hand. Thomas Jr. mixed in a midrange pull-up jump shot that he showed good touch for but I would like to see him improve his 3 point shot.
