Sam Sweeney, 6’2 G/W – Champlain Valley Union High School Class of 2023
Smart, simple, and effective, Sam makes the basketball play. He’s a solid two-way player who guards 1-3, rotates crisply off the ball, and can occupy both high or low slots in zone defenses. On the offensive end he’s a deadeye shooter, especially off the catch. Moreover, he reads closeouts well, gets into the second layer with decisive moves, and can score it around the cup or make heady passes to bigs or relocating shooters. Sweeney is a natural on the floor.
Noah Earl Noah Earl 6'2" | CG BFA-St. Albans | 2023 NLG , 6’3 G/W – BFA St. Albans Class of 2023
One of my favorite guys to watch, Noah has star abilities, yet he scraps like someone trying to break into the rotation. Earl is an all-around guy who can legitimately defend 1-3 and most 4’s with his combination of strength, agility, and height. He reads passing lanes well, is a heady rotator, and loves to press. Moreover, he can play 1-3 on the offensive end with his crisp handle, vision, and ability to orchestrate + create. An open-court player with three-level scoring and he’s selfless and smart; Noah is as solid as they come.
Tavarius Vance, 6’2 G/W – Spaulding High School Class of 2023
A true wing, Tavarius slides between the 2 and the 3. With his agility and strength he’s a tough wing defender, plus he slides into help position and rotates intuitively when in a defensive scramble. Vance can hit the glass, but with two 6’6+ bigs down low he’s more apt to collect the outlet and go. He’s a savvy open-court player who loves to finish at the rim and is timely with his advance passes. Plus, Vance is a three-level threat in the halfcourt, moves instinctively off-ball, and sees the floor with clarity.
Abdi Sharif, 6’3 W – Rice Memorial High School Class of 2025
A defensive mastermind, Abdi can matchup with the best of them. He’s a lockdown defender 1-3 with his combination of length, agility, and smarts. Sharif understands opponent’s strengths and knows just how to take them out of their game. In fact, he seems to relish the most difficult defensive matchups. Moreover, he’s a solid rebounder, plays passing lanes well, and is a natural in the open court. Offensively he’s smart, decisive, and a fantastic finisher. One of 2025’s top prospects.
Rex Hauser, 6’2 G/W – St. Johnsbury Academy Class of 2025
Rex is a dynamic guy. He often fronts the zone defense for St. J, yet he’s a vital rebounder and a tough on-ball defender. Hauser has nice length and work ethic, plus his understanding of the zone spacing and rotations are clean and crisp. Furthermore, he’s shown he’s a rugged man-to-man defender at the 2 or 3 slot. Offensively Hauser is versatile. He loves to get out in transition and is a strong slasher who does a ton of damage at the rim. Plus, he has solid passing senses and hits his jumpers off the catch. Keep an eye on Hauser.
Carson Cody, 6’2 W – Montpelier High School Class of 2025
One of D2’s most intriguing guys is Carson Cody. He’s a fearless hooper who’s offensive repertoire is unassuming yet highly effective. Carson is a legit three-level scorer with his trusty finishing package and crafty mid-range jumpers, and of course the three ball. Moreover, he creates contact and gets to the line often. Defensively the guy is gritty. He works hard, defends 2-3, and with his length he’s a menace in passing lanes and pressure defenses. He’s another open-court guy who plays smart.
