Aeybel provided such a great spark of energy for his squad when he came in off the bench. Being a small guard, he did what he was supposed to— be a pest defensively, bring energy, and take care of the ball. He had some nice rim attacks in the game that showed his fearlessness, too.
2023 Israel Hill Jr. 6’2 F De La Salle North Catholic Knights
Hill Jr. impressed me with his focus and motor. Starting in layup lines I could see his laser focus. During the first half, he carried the load for his squad. He did most of his damage in the paint. He had some nice drives to the cup where he finished through contact. He also showed his post-game and hit some jump hooks and turnaround fadeaways. Defensively he was solid and guarded 1-4.
2024 AJ Manning-Blanks 5’11 G, Spanaway Lake Sentinels
Physically AJ is built like a running back, and he seemed to have the strength of one too which helped him on the defensive end. His strength combined with his lateral quickness allowed him to make things difficult for whoever he was guarding. He eventually got the assignment to guard the opposing team’s best player. And although AJ was about six inches shorter, he used his strength to be physical and frustrated his opponent. Offensively, he was always looking to push. His aggression was a blessing and a curse. Sometimes it caused him to get out of control in transition. Other times it paid off like when he hit a huge 3 to send the game to OT.
2023 Jaytin Hara 5’11 SG, Kamiak Knights
Jaytin played with high energy on the defensive end all night. Offensively, he’s a lefty that can stick it from 3. He missed a chance to put the dagger in the opposing team during regulation. In OT he had a similar opportunity but this time he knocked it down. It was nice to see him remain confident and have a short-term memory; that’s such a great quality to have as a shooter.

6’7 PF, Spanaway Lake Sentinels
Cooper was the vocal anchor for the Sentinels defensively. He battled on the glass all game, especially on the offensive end. He created many second-chance opportunities for his team and even converted a few on his own. He also showed his ability to hit the 15-ft jumper.
