Zach Davis, 6’4 F – Colchester High School Class of 2024
The big fella was in his bag this week. Davis averaged 19.5 points over two games against solid D1 competition. Zach has inside/out game and decides where to assert himself depending on the matchup. He faced a couple of undersized opponents and made it a point to get in the post, but he also lit it up from deep with his deadeye catch-and-shoot stroke. Moreover, he displayed nice versatility defending the wing, showcasing a lightness of foot not many big guys have. Davis can score at all three-levels, defends 3-5, and runs the floor well. Gotta love it.
Tyler Bergmans Tyler Bergmans 6'2" | SG South Burlington | 2024 State NLG , 6’2 G – South Burlington High School Class of 2024
Bergmans has that swiss-army knife game, capable of doing nearly everything on the floor. He can defend 1-4, is a premier rebounder from the wing, and can score it in many ways. First, Tyler’s a keen slasher. He’s constantly putting pressure on the rim and forcing teams to help off shooters in fear he’ll cook guys at the cup. Moreover, he can occupy the PG slot, has wise off-ball movement on the wing, and can operate in the post too. His combination of quickness, strength, pace and IQ make him one of the most dynamic guys in a class chock full of versatile hoopers. Bergmans has all-around game and the grit to take difficult matchups.
Seth Richards, 6’7 F – BFA. St. Albans Class of 2023
The selfless senior big man has one of the best motors in the state. Going both ways, Seth runs the floor hard as anyone I’ve seen, and he makes so many plays because of it. His touch around the rim has improved since last year, and he collects tons of buckets in transition. Plus, he prevents fastbreak buckets because he covers ground so quickly. Moreover, he’s a tough post defender and rotates sharply to cut off drivers. His length provides him the ability to get a hand on tons of passes going into the second layer and shots at the rim. Richards is coming into his own.
Trevon Bradley, 5’8 G – Winooski High School Class of 2023
Tre produced one of the nicest stat lines of the year thus far. He put down a 24 point, 11 assist, 10 steal triple double against D2 Milton; let it be known, Bradley’s two-way tenacity is undeniable. First, he gets to his spots at will. He finishes nicely in traffic and gets to the line often due to his constant slashing. Moreover, when teams clog the paint or send multiple defenders, he’s unbothered. Tre has the range, vision and IQ to manipulate defenses with his eyes and ball fakes, making space for jumpers or to slip heady passes to open teammates. In addition, Tre is one of the toughest on-ball defenders in the state and chokes guys up his agility and strength. Take notice.
Drew Bessette Drew Bessette 6'7" | PF Rice Memorial | 2024 State NLG , 6’6 F – Rice Memorial High School Class of 2024
One of the most polished prospects in the state, hands down. Drew has been highly efficient as of late, finishing his looks, both inside and out, at a high clip. Bessette is a monster in the post with his drop steps and baby hooks, or he can face up and knock it down in the mid to short range. Moreover, he’s knock down from three. Nonetheless, he’s careful with his shot selection, taking smart shots 99% of the time and maintains high percentages because of it. Moreover, he can guard 3-5, rotates crisply on defense and has a habit of cleaning the glass. Drew’s all-around game paired with his surgical instincts on both ends make him one of the steadiest and most effective guys around. Tune in to Drew.
