This game was certainly a game of 2 different halves. The host Bulldogs led at the halftime break 33-23 over Dillon HS. The Wildcats turned it up in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Bulldogs 26-13 to take a 49-46 lead heading into the 4th quarter. The Wildcats would cruise onto an easy road victory to move to (7-3) on the season and (4-1) in region play.
Making Most of Opportunity:
The Dillon HS Wildcats have played just 10 after their game yesterday. The Wildcats traditionally never play the full amount of 26 games here since football season usually last until early December.
Silent Senior Season:
Zavieon Clark Zavieon Clark 6'1" | CG Dillon | 2023 State SC is a name not many people around the state has heard of especially outside the Pee Dee. Clark a UNSIGNED Senior guard finished the day with 22 points. Clark entered the contest with a 20.5 ppg average. Zavieon plays the game very unselfish and almost to a fault at times. He was passive on some shots but very productive when he did shoot the ball. He seemed most effective when getting to the bucket and getting into the lane.
Plenty of Young Talent Here:
The Dillon HS Wildcats always has football talent. Shawn Samuel, Jamarion Fling, Jamel Odom and Zamaurious Robertson Zamaurious Robertson 6'0" | SG Dillon | 2026 State SC all made good contributions today. Samuel was a brute down low in the paint all night long for the Wildcats. Samuel plays the game close to the cup and collected rebounds on putbacks and just solid effort. Shawn scored 8 points and brought a few bruises home with his toughness down low.
Fling a sophomore had a big season on the gridiron and looks to be the next great running back in line. Jamarion played the game in attack mode all day long and really used his arms to fight off defenders. He showed to have great quick first step. Odom was active on the glass and the passing lanes. Jamel isn’t flashy at all but he’s effective close to the basket. He finished with 10 points.
Robertson has a quick trigger from downtown. Zamaurious is just a freshman and a name you will be hearing down the road. Robertson finished with 12 points today while connecting on (3) three pointers.
The Bulldogs Trying to Scramble:
The Bulldogs are continuing to scramble for wins this season. Junior jumping jack Ty Stanley Ty Stanley 6'4" | SF Georgetown | 2024 State SC finished with 10 points to lead the way. Ty plays his best basketball when he looks to stalk the baseline and attack from the wing. Stanley a long and rangy athlete seems to excel at times in the transition game for the Bulldogs. Kavonte Mathews was a new name for the database today with his play. Mathews connected on some perimeter jumpers and felt very comfortable shooting the ball from the wing.
The Bulldogs will have to battle to stay in contention after falling to (5-14) and (1-4) in Region 7-AAA.
