Brophy Prep was undefeated for their freshman team and had only two losses by a total of four points heading into the games.
They did end up winning both games and remained unblemished at 15-0 on freshmen and 13-2 on JV.
The Broncos freshman team has an interesting roster with former NFL players sons with Larry Fitzgerald’s son and Kyle Vanden Bosch twin sons. All three are talented but are reportedly all legit on the gridiron.
Here were the freshmen standouts

A scoring lead guard is a sharp shooter. He has a beautiful shot from the three point line with some range. He had six triples and every shot looked good. He likes catching and shooting with a quick release. The lefty has a floater and a high feel for the game. He is smart in the pick and roll game and finds his spots to attack.
Jayden Hughes Jayden Hughes 6'5" | CG Brophy Prep | 2026 State AZ Brophy Prep
A scoring combo guard can catch and shoot from the three plus will take one or two dribbles and will pull-up from mid-range. He has quick hands on defense to play the passing lanes and will rip the ball away from an opponent. He can drive and kick it and his passing and fluidity pop off the page.
Noah Butler Noah Butler 6'2" | SF Brophy Prep | 2026 State AZ SF 6’2 2026 Brophy Prep
A long and lean wing forward can push the rock plus defend multiple positions. He rebounds well in his area and can collect steals plus block shots. A freshman to monitor.
Jude Sumner SG 5’10 2026 Brophy Prep
One of their many football players on the team who played well. The lefty has a quick and compact, pretty stroke from the three point line. He has a stronger upper body and he is a sneaky good passer. He can score in traffic and plays hard.
Alex Brown Alex Brown 6'1" | CG Hamilton | 2026 State AZ Hamilton
A scoring guard is an easy scorer with a nice first step and a polished pull-up. He is a smart play maker and scores multiple ways with floaters, runners, he can dribble drive and rise up from mid-range and shoot it with a soft touch. He scores on sweeping layups in transition that is hard to block. He moves without the ball and will get some backdoor layups.
Paxton Tamlyn Paxton Tamlyn 5'10" | PG Hamilton | 2026 State AZ Hamilton
A skilled lead guard has a tight handle and high feel for the game. He is good with his off hand left handling pressure. He can drive and kick often after he gets into the paint. He has nice body control to score in traffic and will finish thru contact despite his leaner frame. He has range on his jumper beyond the three point line and can burst by.
Bryce Neal Bryce Neal 6'5" | PF Hamilton | 2026 State AZ Hamilton (Pictured)
A fluid and graceful mover. He leaps up to grab a board high above the crowd. He can score it in the post with his back to the basket and will fall away from his defender. He is still a little raw offensively but he is one of the better freshman shot blockers in the state. He leaps up so quickly to block with his super long arms and quick reflexes.
Diego Gonzales Diego Gonzales 6'0" | CG Hamilton | 2026 State AZ Hamilton
A scoring combo guard with bigger hands and feet. He can catch and shoot from the three point line. He uses his wingspan to play the passing lanes and has a sneaky burst to drive baseline and score it in the lane.
