Brian Starett| G | Brick Memorial
The senior guard did a great job of bringing the ball up and facilitating in the halfcourt. He battled well against pressure to make smart decisions passing the ball and will be a solid facilitator running the offense at the next level.
Josh Michigan Josh Michigan 6'4" | SG Compass Prep | 2024 State NJ | G| Brick Memorial
Michigan had a good second quarter, hit some 3s and displayed his overall skill set on both ends. He grabbed rebounds, deflected passes and blocked shots. He was quieted in the second half and OT by some tactical switches made by BM. He finished with 14.
Samir Padilla Samir Padilla 5'10" | PG Jackson Memorial | 2023 State NJ | G | Jackson
Padilla hit the go ahead three in overtime and made the most of his opportunities. He was rotated in and out of the game throughout the contest based on matchups and different looks from the coaching staff. He moves well off the ball and creates pockets for himself to fire off shots from beyond the arc. Classmate Respect Tyleek Respect Tyleek 6'1" | CG Jackson Memorial | 2023 State NJ had a tough time breaking down the BM zone to get looks so Padilla and teammates stepped up to fire the Jags back into it.
Dorian Alston Dorian Alston 6'5" | SF Brick Memorial | 2023 State NJ | F | Brick Memorial
Alston battled in the post at both ends of the court and fought through foul trouble and an eyebrow that was busted open as if it was hit by Lennox Lewis late in the contest. He was consistent at the foul line, going 7-10; he fouled out late in the game but was a force for Brick and a key piece of their offensive sets.
Charlie Meglio | F| Jackson
Meglio was the best player on the floor and it wasn’t even close….and basketball isn’t his primary sport. He’s a slugging shortstop committed to Campbell. The D1 prospect in baseball could EASILY play college basketball and impact as a freshman if he wanted to. He’s got a soft touch on his shot, excellent footwork in the post, a mean drop step and can finish with both hands. He had a double-double and was absolutely fantastic at both ends of the floor.
