The junior lead guard was on fire today and played with a high motor on top of the press and forced turnovers and bad shots. He’s active on defense and comes up with steals and scored at all levels. One of a handful of college level guards in the Dragons Den. He had 16 on the day.
Major Rainey Major Rainey 6'3" | SG Allderdice | 2024 State PA | F | Allderdice
An explosive athlete and slasher, Rainey got to the tin through quite a bit of contact and was able to finish with ease. He was active on the offensive boards and created a host of second chance points for himself and senior Antwone Ward-Thurman Antwone Ward-Thurman 6'4" | PF Allderdice | 2023 State PA . Rainey led all scorers with an impressive 23 points.
Ethan Anish Ethan Anish 6'1" | CG Taylor Allderdice | 2023 State PA | G | Allderdice
A senior leader and multi year starter, Anish looks like he’s grown an inch and put on about 15 pounds of muscle as his frame has matured from “boy” to “man” in the last year. Anish was a pest on defense and is a tough on-ball defender. He’s a great passer, facilitator and knows how to get his teammates going on the break in transition–It’s a specialty at ‘Dice as Rainey, Sam Kelly Sam Kelly 6'5" | PF Allderdice | 2023 State PA and Golle are their outlets.
Lukas Stead | F | Allderdice
An imposing freshman at about 6’3″-6’4″ and 230lbs, Stead is a multi sport athlete who also excels in football and baseball. He’s going to be a tough player on the basketball court who would likely be starting for 70% of the teams in Western PA right now, but is a young player learning the ropes at ‘Dice. He can defend on the perimeter but also battle down low. He’ll be a player to watch the next few seasons.
Ahmad Arrington | G | Perry
The Traditional Academy had a tough day, but Arrington shouldered the load offensively, going for 18. He’s got a nice first step to the rim and is confident in traffic. He’s also a multi sport athlete who is the QB on the football team, runs track and plays volleyball. He’ll be one of the top athletes in the City next year, as he’s a junior.
