Alex Sessoms leaves a highlight in every game he plays. The athletic 6’1 guard is spring loaded. He can finish above the rim in transition and has a few two hands dunks in the paint. His athleticism is more prominent when he’s off the ball, but that doesn’t stop him from using his hang time to finish through contact. Sessoms can rebound and push the ball for transition points. He’s someone that teams always have to keep an eye on because of his offensive rebounding and cutting.
Blazing speed and athletic pop has turned Trey Murray Trey Murray 6'2" | PG Wesley Chapel | 2024 State FL into the leading scorer in the state. His athleticism is the doorstep to a talented lead guard. His burst allows him to get in the paint at will. He has a consistent pull up jumper to keep drop defenses at bay. Normally when someone is given, the chances Murray is they’re inefficient, but he shooting 36% form three and 51% from the field. I’m really impressed by Murray’s ability to score and make plays.
Cheo James Cheo James 6'3" | PG Boone | 2024 State FL is a 6’3 combo guard that operates well off the ball. He makes tight cuts around screens to get open. James is shooting well off catch and from the free throw lines. When he comes off screens, he can get downhill and finish through contact. He’s an attentive defender that’s constantly surveying the floor. On the ball, he’s a physical defender that doesn’t draw fouls. James may have more lead guard skills but doesn’t get to show them off in Boone’s motion offense.
Highlights
Ryan Blount Ryan Blount 6'6" | CG Rockledge | 2024 State FL is having a career year with increases in scoring rebounds, and assists. The 6’5 sharpshooter is using his size to score in the high post. His overall toughness is showing this season with 10 a game. Blount’s use of physicality expands his game.
I’ve been high on Ramone Seals Ramone Seals 6'4" | CG SLAM Tampa | 2024 State FL since watching him as a sophomore. He has all the tools as a long, athletic, 6’5 wing, but wasn’t aggressive enough to dominate the game. Seals isn’t dominating yet, but he can take over games with his defensive effort and scoring. He scores well in transition, can hit an open jumper, and makes acrobatic layups. He gets separation on drives by using his shoulder to dislodge defenders. Seals isn’t his team’s primary ball handler but still averages four assists a game because defenses close in on him and he finds the open guy. He’s really embracing his frame and physicality to score through contact near the rim and grab offensive boards.
