Bingham vs. American Fork
Bingham has been on a little run as they turned a few heads with their last two wins as they took out Westlake and Pleasant Grove. There is one thing for certain that you will get from Bingham and that is a solid defense. Size wise Bingham has some decent guard size but nobody can really matchup with AF. Luke West Luke West 6'2" | SG Bingham | 2026 State UT could have a good matchup with Tiger Cuff Tiger Cuff 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2024 State UT and Bingham has many guards that can handle their other guards. This game could come down to who shoots the best from deep. With a weapon like Aaron Dunne Aaron Dunne 6'9" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT a player that can shoot he could be a big player in this game.
Players to Watch: Jason Peterson Jason Peterson 6'4" | CG Bingham | 2025 State UT and KJ Jenson KJ Jenson 6'0" | SG Bingham | 2023 State UT . These are two players that can work the perimeter and help Bingham score.
Blake Rawson Blake Rawson 6'8" | PF American Fork | 2024 State UT and Jaxon Durrant, both of these player could dominate the boards and make this game an out of reach game.
Fremont vs. Layton
Two pre-season favorites to win Region 1 and here we are as they face-off. Against Farmington Hunter Hansen Hunter Hansen 6'4" | PG Fremont | 2024 State UT had his first non double digit game, do not expect that two games in a row. Hunter has had his way with smaller guards so his defensive stopper will need to be chosen wisely. Brock Mendoza Brock Mendoza 6'9" | C Layton | 2023 State UT for Layton could have himself a night if he can dominate the boards and get easy put-backs. Mekhi Martin Mekhi Martin 6'2" | PG Layton | 2024 State UT has that strong and smooth game that could turn into a pick your poison type of game. If KJ Miller KJ Miller 6'3" | CG Layton | 2024 State UT gets open looks and hits 4+ three-pointers this game could get out of hand.
Players to Watch: David Calvert David Calvert 6'6" | PF Fremont | 2023 State UT and Boston Hadley Boston Hadley 5'11" | PG Fremont | 2023 State UT have both been playing well. They could be big time in this game.
Mekhi Martin Mekhi Martin 6'2" | PG Layton | 2024 State UT and Crew Harrop this is a game that will require good guard play and these two can really get things going.
Riverton vs. Pleasant Grove
This is a huge game all the way around. PG is looking to bounce back and Riverton is out to prove that they’re for real. Jaxon Kereks has an opportunity to really light up PG as they have had trouble with teams that have tough scoring guards. Size wise PG has more height but Riverton seems to have a plan against teams with size. This will be a game that you can see a player like Isaac Garrett Isaac Garrett 6'8" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT having a great outing. Probably the best pre-season matchup before everyone starts region play.
Players to Watch: Stratton Johnson Stratton Johnson 6'1" | SG Riverton | 2023 State UT and Carter Nixon. If they are on from deep this game could be over sooner than later.
All of PG’S guards they will need to step up.
