Ryan Leskauskas Ryan Leskauskas 6'4" | SF Chatham | 2023 State NJ | 6’4” | G | Chatham
One of the top returning guards in North Jersey, Leskauskas is a skilled scorer with the ball in his hands and can get to the rim but also is a great shooter who lights it up if defenders give him some room. He’s also a capable slasher with a good first step to the basket. His top games as a junior were vs Union Catholic(27), Hillsborough(25) and Mendham(24). He’s heading to Dickinson in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Nick Valentino Nick Valentino 6'0" | PG Red Bank Regional | 2023 State NJ | 6’2” | G| Red Bank Regional
Valentino had a marquee year as a junior, scoring almost 500 pts. He’s a strong guard who can use his solid 200lb frame to finish at the rim. A good shooter who has a nice and high release point on his jumper. He’s got a high level of basketball knowledge and could be a candidate for First Team All Shore as a senior. His top games as a junior were vs Keyport(26), Manasquan(22) and SJV(23,21).
From a previous post: Valentino recently committed to Kenyon in Ohio, showing that Jersey kids are in high demand across the Northeast and Rust Belt and that colleges can come to New Jersey from Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Upstate NY to find quality players who will take interest in their schools.
TJ Halloran TJ Halloran 6'3" | CG Westfield | 2023 State NJ | 6’3” | G | Westfield
A lean guard who can also play the lead role in the backcourt and facilitate an offensive set if needed. He gets at the rim as a slasher and always plays within his skillset–As such, he’s a patient player who doesn’t force too many shots that aren’t good looks. His understanding of the game is high. He had 17 vs Hackensack and 15 vs Egg Harbor. He’s a well rounded player who can hit the boards, cause turnovers, hand out assists and score when needed. He’s committed to one of the top academic schools in the entire country, RPI.
Colin Haluska Colin Haluska 6'3" | SF Matawan | 2023 State NJ | 6’3” | G | Matawan
Haluska is a versatile bigger guard. He’s got the strength to power his way to the basket but can also step back and keep defenders honest beyond the perimeter. He’s a tough on ball defender who also hits the glass at both ends of the floor. Matawan was unbelievably young last year and will still be this year, but Haluska, who’s committed to a high academic school with a beautiful campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Muhlenberg, will be the leader.
Brian Farrell Brian Farrell 6'1" | SG Donovan Catholic | 2023 State NJ | 6’1″ | G | Monsignor Donovan
Farrell is solid with the ball in his hands and can get to the basket and finish contested shots. He’s also a capable shooter and can play tough defense. He’ll be the top player for the Griffins and should push for All County honors–He’s committed to one of the oldest and most respected small schools in America, Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
