At #13 Taylor has transferred to York Prep in the city from Lasalle academy. He is a well rounded guard. Can shoot the three. Has a good handle to get into the lane and rise above a defender and shoot the pull up. Good rebounding guard. Can play either guard spot. Has good size for the point and a really good skill set to play the SG spot. Has had 2 games one of 29 points followed up by a 51 point explosion. He has shown his all around game with 7 rebounds and 6 assists and 7 steals in the other.
Highlights
#51 Anthony last year took a secondary role to the all time leading scorer on Long Island. He showed the ability to score the basketball many different ways. He is a strong guard who can get to the rim and score. Creates contact and can finish in transition. Excellent shooter from three. He can shoot it off the catch or in transition equally effectively.
This elite athletic player who can jump out of the gym comes in at #68. Also possesses a solid mid range game. Can rise up through the air and flush it in transition or in a crowd. Also uses his jumping ability to not only block the shot but is one of those rare shot blockers that can also retrieve it after the rejection.
Highlights
Kobe is #98 in our rankings. Another player who can really get up. Extremely fast player. Can go north-south as fast as anyone in upstate NY. Terrific on the ball defender. He uses his athleticism and his ability to leap and quickness to hound his opponent.
Isaac comes in at #117 in the class of 2023. Building on his outstanding season last year where he was one of the top three point shooters in Nassau county. He has picked up this year right where he left off. Draining threes from deep off the catch or dribble. Averaging over 15 a game in the early going this year.
At #137 Girell as waited his turn at Elmont now he is coming into his own. Strong bodied guard can take you off the bounce. Really good in transition. Can get into the lane and create contact and still score. Very good at contorting his body to get his shot off while still under controll.
#123 Joey Meyer Joey Meyer 6’1″ | SG Island Trees | 2023 State NY seems to get better every time we see him. An outstanding shooter from three. Sets his feet and delivers a smooth jumper. Always ready to shoot it. Has unlimited range. Has gotten better with his handle getting off his own shot.
