Here were the local junior standouts:
Styles Phipps Styles Phipps 6'1" | PG St Mary's | 2024 State #182 Nation AZ St. Mary’s
A super shifty scoring point guard. He made a few advance passes down the court and changed speeds about as well as you can to get passed his defenders. His sweet spot is his mid-range jumper of the dribble for sure. His upper body is stronger to take contact and score inside. He makes a few wow plays every game.
Braeden Speed Braeden Speed 6'3" | CG Brophy Prep | 2024 State AZ Brophy Prep
A defensive guard with big time lateral quickness and strength. He is a downhill type of guard who is tough. He can pull-up from mid-range and get to the rim with his shift and build. He defends the best player on every team and is invaluable if the Broncos want to make a deep run.
Barron Silsby Barron Silsby 6'1" | PG Perry | 2024 State AZ Perry (Pictured)
The starting point guard for the Pumas has a high feel for the game. He is a deep three point shooter who will rattle them off versus some top notch teams. He has a high level floater game and he is a better passer than he gets credited with. He has a little burst but his shooting sets up the rest of his game.
Ben Rosenberg Ben Rosenberg 5'10" | PG Chaparral | 2024 State AZ Chaparral
An undersized, shifty ball handler is their pure point guard for the Firebirds. He is the floor general who guides the offense and sets up the team for easier scores. He can hit perimeter jumpers and burst into the lane.
Luke Rehl Luke Rehl 6'5" | SF Brophy Prep | 2024 State AZ Brophy Prep
A long and lean wing with good size. He can shoot the three with nice ball rotation on his shooting. He plays the game with a good IQ and court awareness. Once he fills in a little, he should be even more valuable.
Nathan Wanjohi Nathan Wanjohi 6'6" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2024 AZ Ironwood
A long versatile forward is a two-way player. He was crashing the glass and scoring inside the paint. His length, size and quickness allows him to defend multiple positions. He can rip thru with either hand and brings his hard hat to every game he plays.
Noah Gifft Noah Gifft 6'2" | SG Ironwood | 2024 State AZ Ironwood
Their top shooter made his usual catch and shoot triples but also had a couple difficult shots made. One was as the shot clock was running down, he faded away over the defender and bang, right in. His ability to shoot gives the forwards space in the middle, since the defenders know they can’t sag off of him.
