St. Clair is the best shooter in the state. While starting the season missing only one three-point attempt in his first ten games, many would assume he’s a stationary shooter. However, St. Clair is a certified shot creator who knocks down shots from range off the bounce. With a smooth step back that’s cash from any range, he does a great job of using defenders’ momentum against them. St.Clair has extreme range on his jumper and shoots with accuracy beyond the college three-point line. He’s one of the few players that has to be picked up as soon he crosses halfcourt. This allows him to work the perimeter with sidesteps, stepbacks, and two dribble pull-ups, and his jab steps out of triple threats. As a pure three-level scorer, he shows accuracy/touch from the midrange and enough handle/ craft to get to the basket and finish effectively. In the paint, he has nuance, can finish with the left, float one over the top, and create space for himself to get an attempt. Lastly, St Clair flashes major playmaking potential as a playmaker. With defenses having to honor his drives, he frequently makes dump-off passes and kicks to the corner for high-quality shots. As one of the more underrated prospects in the state St.Clair is a diamond in the rough that can play at the next level.
Braynt James
Braynt James
James is an uprising prospect who’s looking to emerge as a top-flight scorer in the 2025 class. The Haleyville guard recently dropped a crispy 40-piece against Cullman and surpassed the 1000 career point mark as a sophomore. James is extremely Crafty with changes of speed, hesitations, and creating angles to the basket. His signature spin move has left many defenders in the dust and produced a lot of buckets for Haleyville. James is also Extremely comfortable shooting off the catch with a Concise release and nice rotation. As a high IQ player, James finds opportunities off the ball and is highly efficient as a floor spacer when working as the off-guard. James also is developing into an elite playmaker. He has the natural instinct and IQ to find the best shot. These can lead to jaw-dropping dimes and advanced-level passing for someone of his age.
Highlights
Though Fields may be undersized, he punches above his weight and ranks within the top 10 of scoring in the state. He shows tremendous aggressiveness with his touches and is always looking to be on the attack. Fields is excellent at playing north and south, getting downhill to the basket- making him even quicker than he naturally is. Fields is also fearless when going to the basket and doesn’t mind taking contact on finishes. He also has a variety of finishes he can use such as euro steps, inside-hand finishes, and high glass finishes. Fields is also a dependable shooter from the outside that can get on a hot streak and do damage from deep. Look for Fields to continue his scoring output and carry his team on the offensive end.
Stubbs is an off-ball scorer who can thrive within the offensive structure. He puts constant pressure on defenses while moving without the ball and using his teammates to get high-percentage looks. Stubbs is effective in various actions that lead to perimeter shots. He can run off screens, excels in dribble handoffs, and can shoot off flares. Even outside of structure Stubbs always relocates to space on broken plays and presents himself as a target consistently. The result of this movement is a college-ready jumper that’s accurate from deep and can change a game if he gets hot.
