Davis Tournament Updates

A few notable teams are out at the Davis tournament including three teams just playing some good basketball right now. That is Sky View, Woods Cross and Olympus. We take a look at some results and future matchups.

Olympus vs. Woods Cross

Olympus is out there putting people on notice. Earlier this year Olympus played American Fork who is not only good but regarded as one of the best high school teams in the country. Olympus made them look human as the shorthanded Titans put up a fight. Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT was playing with such a high motor getting steals and dishing the ball. Yesterday they were paired up against one of the media favorites in Woods Cross and Olympus crushed them. Olympus held their two top scorers to a low shooting percentage night and they came out with a statement win. Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell 6'6" | SG Olympus | 2024 State UT was lights out as he put up a 30 piece and was hitting from deep. One of the surprise players that you will start to see develop is Class of 2026 Gavin Lowe Gavin Lowe 5'10" | PG Olympus | 2026 State UT who is a good defender and he is a solid all-around prospect that has athletic ability. This Olympus team is for real.

Sky View vs. Olympus

This game on paper is such a good matchup as Sky View has been getting some excellent play from Tanner Davis Tanner Davis 6'5" | PG Sky View | 2024 State UT who has to be reaching a lot of D1 coaches eyes as the athletic 6’4 PG has been different this year. Tanner will being head to head with Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT who is a D1 commit with a different style of play but they both compete and play with high motors. Carter Davis Carter Davis 6'6" | CG Sky View | 2023 State UT and Logan Deal Logan Deal 6'6" | SF Sky View | 2023 State UT have been solid and Olympus can have many role players step up. This one is a much watch if you are heading to a game up North.

Kaden is a player that can go off at any time. Last night he erupted for 36 points and hauled in 11 rebounds. Not only can he score all over the floor he also work hard to track rebounds down.

Sam Stevensen

Do not overlook this little guard he packs a punch and the kid can heat up from deep in a hurry. 31 points last night and he was a major factor from deep.

Charlie Smith

Charlie has a mature game and you can see how he has developed over the years and he is still young. Great size and shooting ability that you can see out on the floor.

Mason Bendinger

Mason is not a player that will have to bad nights in a row at the high school level. Look for him to bounce back and put up some great numbers. Mason just picked up a great offer from Salt Lake Community College one of the best D1 JUCO’s in the country.
