Trai was just up to his typical self today with his play. White and his War Eagle teammates took a tough loss to Dynamic Prep (TX) tonight. Trai finished the evening with 16 points on a variety of baskets coming around the paint. He was able to penetrate the gaps and touch the paint all night long. Trai is a fast point guard from end to end who also brings some toughness to the position.
Deuce did everything possible to keep the Knights in the game today. The Knights lost a tough one to Richland Northeast despite dropping 19 points in the defeat. Hudson can get the rack and finish with both hands through contact. Deuce likes to play the game aggressively and never looks to take a play-off while on the floor.
Parker was a BEAST all day long around the paint. Chris at times left a few buckets on the table that’s for sure. Parker finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds according to my unofficial stats. Chris played extremely aggressive on the glass and inside the paint. He has really filled out his body and the weight room has been good to him these past few years.
What position will he be at the next level? One thing you sure don’t have to worry about with Parker is that he brings GREAT EFFORT every time he touches the floor.
Frazer and the hometown Cardinals lost a tough one to Ridge View HS in the nightcap this evening 55-53. Frazer once attended Ridge View HS before landing over at Cardinal Newman finished the night with 18 points. Frazer finds ways to score the ball and makes the most of his chances while on the floor. Jordan can stop and pop with a job or show good body control to the basket.
Johnson lacks that true position but, he sure does bring productivity to the table for the Cavaliers. Justice plays multiple positions on both ends of the floor. He can defend on the perimeter or drop down and take care of a post player. Johnson has good length to get disruptive in the passing lanes at times. Justice was able to stick a few turnaround jumpers today on his way to scoring 15 points in the Cavaliers win over West Florence HS.
Evans and the Skyhawks lost the opener to Eau Claire HS today. Amari a undersized left-handed shooting guard did the most he could do to keep the Skyhawks in the game. Evans finished with 18 points in the loss. Evans is a very streaky shooter at times and will really look to be the go-to guy for the Skyhawks this coming season.
Sean really made an impact today for the Shamrocks in the win. Quick-Streeter finished with 24 points in the win. Sean really attacked the basket in transition and showed some ball skills along the way. Sean is quick leaper off the floor with good length from the wing position. He shows to have a quick shot release from downtown. Sean was able to drop some floaters along the way for the Shamrocks. Could he have a breakout season? The Shamrocks will add Cedric Schofield to the mix in a few weeks.
Bledsoe brought some perimeter shooting to the table today for the Gamecocks in a win over Camden HS. Khalil a catch-shoot guard was able to show a good stroke from downtown. He did finish a nice up and under around the cup one time today.
