Gabe is a fantastic passer, but early in his career he was the featured scorer on his high school team. A long time ago Leeper ran with Sweetwater High, and they needed him to put in the pill. Now, with Jasen Brooks Jasen Brooks 6'1" | PG Cleveland | 2023 State TN , Alex Hyder Alex Hyder 6'3" | SG Cleveland | 2023 State TN , and Judah Sault Judah Sault 6'5" | SF Cleveland | 2023 State TN , the Cleveland High team needs much less help to put the ball in the basket. They needed more guidance offensively and an expert decision-maker. Gabe adapted. He learned to lead a team, defend his position better. He kept the best parts of his game, the mid-range, the quickness, the willingness to go after a bucket when the team needs it.

(PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine Co-MVP) was injured throughout most of the 2022 portion of this season. His recruitment reflects that absence. He is a LM D1 player without much D1 interest at the moment. That needs to change, but perhaps he will find a golden opportunity at the D2 level. Elite guards selected Lee University in the last few years, for an example.

added a Columbia State offer during the Christmas weekend. He owns an unmatched first-step quickness, and wonderful offensive court awareness. Divens can excel at the JuCo level that Columbia State Community College is offering him for certain.
Tai Cates Tai Cates 5'11" | PG South-Doyle | 2023 State TN (6th best PG), is the third best uncommitted in Tennessee. Like Claridy, Cates spent much of the early season injured. What can Cates do? He is now in his third year of double-figure scoring at the high school level. Remember, Cates surpassed 40 points in a single game back in his sophomore year for Alcoa High. Now at South Doyle, Tai can some magical things with his composure and outside shooting touch. Cates’ athleticism is perhaps not at the D1 level, but Fred VanVleet is in the NBA, so what does anybody know?
Bradin Minton Bradin Minton 6'2" | PG Volunteer | 2023 State TN (Volunteer) is a guy with skills that is getting overlooked. Very thin, Minton is mentally tough and ultra-aware of his basketball surrundings. Minton showcases unrivaled chemistry with Andrew Knittel Andrew Knittel 6'3" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN and Joltin Harrison Joltin Harrison 6'2" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN . All three are capable of playing college basketball. Minton looks like an NAIA guy, perhaps D3.
Carson Badgett Carson Badgett 6'4" | PG Knowledge Academies | 2023 State TN is a player that soared up the PrepHoopsTN rankings in the last month, deservedly so. The 6-foot-3 guard can really, really go. His athleticism was always nice, but his handle tightened up recently and it enabled/enables him to fully take advantage of his leaping ability. Badgett might just leapfrog several point guards ahead of him in our rankings because he is so tall for the position and athleticism generally trumps almost all else when recruiters commit their guesses to their head coach for formal recommendations.
