We had a Sunshine Series champion crowned and a lot of big time prospects on display. Prep Hoops Florida scouts Ross Van De Griek and Riley Sheppard were on site and here are some of the players who stood out in the first half of Day 5.
The 6-6 junior forward scored in double figures for the third consecutive game at the City of Palms. Celiscar finished with a team-high 16 points and 9 rebounds in today’s 51-45 loss vs Vashon. Celiscar also made some flashy plays by adding two steals to his stat ledger as well.
The 6-9 University of Georgia commit was a threat around the rim adding 15 points, on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in today’s 51-45 loss to Vashon. Over the past couple of games, James has developed on an outside shot which he might need to help the team as the rest of his senior season progresses.
The 6-6 junior guard was the bright spot for The Rock’s offense today, finishing with a team-high 16 points and 5 rebounds in today’s 80-54 loss to Link Academy. Wright also went 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
The 6-6 senior forward was a force in the paint leading all scorers with 24 points, on 10-of-20 shooting from the field and 8 rebounds in today’s 51-45 win over Winter Haven. Davis is committed to Southern Illinois University.
Highlights
The 6-6 junior guard was electrifying for Tampa Catholic leading his team with 17 points, including 11 in the first half. Knox has scored in double figures in all 9 games this season for the Crusaders. In 3 games at the City of Palms Classic, Knox averaged 21.3 points per game
