The Patriot League is traditionally one of the toughest in Massachusetts when it comes to all sports but especially boys basketball. Coach Matt Vincenzi has the luxury of being able to rely on a trio of senior captains (Devanti Perry, Brady Spencer and Joey Dwyer) and a solid Junior big man (Patrick Norman) to lead his team.
Devanti Perry – PG – Pembroke Titans Class of 2023
This senior pg brings the ball up with confidence against any defender all while keeping a keen eye on the floor looking for an open teammate. Good court vision and crisp passes have him usually leading his team in assists. A strong on the ball defender, at least 2 or 3 times a contest he pokes the ball loose from his opponent which leads to easy layups. a crafty first step gets him in the lane a lot and also get him to the free throw line that adds much needed points to the scoreboard for his team.
Brady Spencer – PF/C – Pembroke Titans Class of 2023
When you first get a look at Brady you would think he is a middle linebacker and then you see him play. He has the handle of a shifty point guard. Good speed for his size and excellent strength make him an absolute match up nightmare for any opponent. A fierce rebounder who can keep a play alive for his team or ignite a break from the defensive end. I think the scariest part of his game is his ability to shoot the basketball. He has legit NBA 3pt range. It doesn’t matter if he has a defender in his face or not. A definite college prospect he is currently undecided on where he will take his talent next year but you will have to agree where ever he ends up will be lucky to have him.
Joey Dwyer – SG – Pembroke Class of 2023
This left handed sharpshooter is driving defense crazy again this year. His range starts when he enters the gym. Just be careful when guarding him because if you get to close he will blow by you with lightening speed, get to the hoop and usually finish with an and 1. A very strong defender and rebounder for his size his overall well rounded game shows you why he is going to be Roger Williams University next year. While watching him play I was impressed with his smarts, court vision and composure on the court.
Patrick Norman – PF/C – Pembroke Titans Class of 2024
Every team needs that big guy who plays tough defense down low, rebounds and protects the rim. That is exactly what Patrick does for his team. He creates his offense through put backs and knocking down free throws. A long and strong frame allows him to take up space in the lane keeping the other team from having a clean path to the hoop. He is does all the dirty work for his team freeing them up to score and run teams off the floor. Pembroke is poised for another solid season.
