For the more traditional readers, we will be doing a preview of All State teams by classifications too. While most VISAA All State teams have two teams with between 14 and 16 players between the two, we have decided to simply list some of the players we expect to be on the team at the end of the season.
With that being said, here’s a look at some of our picks for VISAA D2 All State candidates, looking at six players we expect to be in the conversation.
Eli DeLaurier Eli DeLaurier 6'8" | C Miller School | 2024 #173 Nation VA | 6’8” PF | Miller School 2024
DeLaurier is one of the fastest rising prospects in the state, as the forward is starting to see high major programs come in to recruit him after the big summer and fall that he had. At 6’8” DeLaurier is a versatile forward that can play inside-out and has really improved in his ability to make shots from deep consistently, he runs the floor hard and rebounds on both ends of the floor, he has a toughness to him on both end of the floor and he’s able to guard multiple positions and rebound in and out of his area.
Isaiah Fuhrmann Isaiah Fuhrmann 6'5" | SF Nansemond-Suffolk | 2024 VA | 6’5” WF | Nansemond-Suffolk 2024
Fuhrmann is a two sport star who’s coming off of a big season on the gridiron and should continue that on the basketball court after the summer he had with Team Push. At 6’5” he’s a versatile player who can play almost any position on the floor at this level, he can knock down shots from deep off the catch when he’s open and when he attacks closeouts or gets out in transition he’s able to get up and play above the rim and is fearless at the rim.
Timayahs Bracey Timayahs Bracey 6'0" | SG Hargrave | 2023 VA | 5’10” CG | Hargrave 2024
Bracey is a player who has had a very successful career so far and has improved a lot over the past few years to round out his game. He’s an elite shooter with deep range and the ability to get hot quickly, he has improved in his ability to play on the ball as far as his pace and ability to create for himself and others off the bounce and he should put up big numbers on a Hargrave high school team that will be a tough out this season.
Owen Gray Owen Gray 6'10" | C Steward | 2024 State VA | 6’9” C | Steward School 2024
Gray recently reclassified to the 2024 class and has started to see his recruitment pick up, as he continues to improve and become more consistent in his production. At 6’9” he’s a big time athlete that can run the floor hard and is an explosive and powerful finisher above the rim, he can step out and has good touch out past 18 feet and he’s a monster on the glass as a rebounder and can protect the rim as well.
Rashaad Williams Rashaad Williams 5'10" | PG Norfolk Collegiate | 2024 State VA | 5’10” PG | Norfolk Collegiate 2024
Williams is part of a young but talented NoCo team that will surprise a lot of people this year, especially with the talented backcourt led by him. While he isn’t the biggest guy, Williams is a dynamic scorer that is smooth and shifty off the bounce and a crafty finisher around the rim, he can create space and knock down shots from deep and he can get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches when he gets it going.
Zekiah Bradley-Gilbert | 6’6” WF | Christchurch 2025
Bradely-Gilbert may not be known by many people right now, but the 6’6” wing is set for a breakout season at Christchurch and his versatility is something college coaches will love moving forward. He has great positional size and has good pop as a finisher when he gets downhill, he can knock down shots off the catch and in the midrange on the pull-up and he can play and guard multiple positions at this level.
