Riley delivered creative and effective passes with either hand.
The sophomore guard looks ready to play major minutes for Knoxville Catholic, if called upon. Riley will sit out until 2023-2024, per TSSAA transfer rules.
His ability to accelerate or dercellerate while owning his dribble was impressive. In the All-Star Game, Gladwin was checked by the PrepHoopsTN Combine Defensive MVP Owen Lentz Owen Lentz 6'0" | PG Knox Webb | 2026 State TN and did not spill the ball away once.
Gladwin’s body needs to add heft. Most varsity starters will be able to foul him pre-shot and prevent an and-1. With bigger shoulders/chest and weight, Gladwin will be able to make the most of his ventures into the lane.
Riley Gladwin Riley Gladwin 5'11" | PG Knoxville Catholic | 2025 State TN ‘s quickness both laterally and directly up the floor are wonderful, bordering on elite.
Right now he is an adept passer with a keen understanding of floor spacing. Willing to penetrate and create without a desperation to get his own shot up. Riley is a throwback point guard, what used to be a called a pass-first point guard or a…point guard. He appears perfectly content to generate offense through his dribble or pass and sit back and watch a teammate score.
Christian Vela Christian Vela 6'3" | SF Grace Christian | 2025 State TN | SF/SG | Grace Christian | 2025
How did he measure against the competition?

- Shoe Size — 13
- 3/4 Court Sprint (65′ not 75′ NBA distance) — 3.33, 3.15

- Camp Ranking — #29

Elite court awareness. Often, Vela was the fastest up the floor on the fastbreak. The times his teammate(s) neglected to deliver him was no fault of his own. Refusing to be rendered useless on the run out, Vela attacked the offensive glass instead. Vela also transitioned towards defense better than most. Each time the ball arrived, Vela was already in his defensive stance.
Though Vela projects as a wing, his passing and decision-making resembles an effective point guard. Very willing and capable passer. Christian showed he is faster than he is quick; his sprint speed impressed while his Lane Agility hovered around the mean. It is not a weakness, but his lateral mobility must improve long-term to enable him to guard the high school and college shooting guard.
