Trey is a dominant athlete who loves punishing the rim with his jaw dropping athleticism and ability to elevate. His leaping ability strikes fear into the hearts of defenders. He has all of the physical tools ready to effect the game at the next level on both ends of the court, but the main reason why he is so effective has to be his motor and willingness to do the dirty work. His ability to scrap and collect long rebounds and second chance points really opened up the floor for himself, allowing him to get coast to coast with ease after snatching down a rebound. Defensively, he can anchor his team’s defense by protecting the rim and even showed an ability to defend well on the perimeter when switched onto quicker guards.
Kelson Jones Kelson Jones 6'7" | PF Canyon | 2024 State TX 2024 6’7 Canyon High School
Kelson is a do it all forward whose energy bleeds through into his teammates, but also has enough skill and offensive awareness to easily finish down low. He is great at using his frame to finish over the top of his opponents. I loved watching him manipulate defenses out of the pick and roll. He set hard screens that created space for his lead guard and smartly slipped to the basket once he recognized his defender is cheating up to trap the ball. He showed consistency by operating out of the high post, and showed an ability to play alongside other forwards. He showed great ball skills for his size and an ability to not only play out of the triple threat, but also by spinning out of the post and turning the corner on his defender. On the defensive end of the court, he has great defensive instincts and can jump multiple times on the interior to change his opponents shot or outright throw their shot into the stands.
Colby Springs Colby Springs 6'5" | PF Lewisville | 2024 TX 2024 6’6 Lewisville High School
Colby is a bruiser in the paint, but has enough skill to kill you on the perimeter or have your offense be run through him. I was blown away watching him manipulate the defense with his handle and then fire an impressive pass to an open shooter. He is truly built like a linebacker, and you could tell kids were having second thoughts about rotating into the paint to get in front of him. He got into the paint with ease any time he wanted to. I was impressed with his ability to move and his overall aggressiveness on both ends of the floor. He stayed engaged and wanted to put his foot on the other teams throat every time he stepped on the floor. As he continues to work on his shot from the perimeter and getting it done off the bounce, you might be looking at a complete offensive weapon here!
