Best of luck to everyone in practice #1!
All-State 9B
Football record 11-1 and a 2nd place finish at State. Tray threw for 1,919 yards and 27 TD’s. He also ran for 544 yards and 5 TD’s. In hoops, Hettick is an explosive and highlight type athlete that put up big numbers last season with 15.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, and 5.7 apg. Hettick can also shoot it well from deep, he shot 37% from beyond the arc. Much like in football, Tray is going to have a fantastic and highly productive hoops season. PHD is predicting Hettick to also be an All-State basketball player.
Football record: 5-5. He was a STUD RB who ran for 887 yards and 15 TD’s. Nic also caught 2 TD’s. Gaspar was also All-State last year. In hoops, I think Gaspar is going to have a monster season. He is a prime-time athlete that can get and finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Gaspar can also cash in triples. He is a physical player on both ends. The Cards are a team to keep eyes on this winter!
Football record: 7-4. He was a complete beast this fall as a lineman. Damon is looking like a serious college recruit with multiple D1 offers. Wilkinson was also All-State last football season and last basketball season. Damon is also an intriguing college basketball prospect. In hoops, Wilkinson will be the best BIG in Class B. He will be a guaranteed double-double guy and he will demand a double team. Wilkinson will be looking to lead the Bulldogs back to State this spring.
Football record: 5-6. He made plays all-over the football field. Miles was a serious blocker and he was also a dangerous receiving threat. Pollman caught 8 TD’s and he had 61 tackles, 1 sack and 16 TFL’s. Just like in football, Pollman is a versatile player in basketball. On the offensive end, Miles will do damage inside & out. He shoots it with a soft touch. Look for this tough Eagle to average double figures in points and rebounds this season.
Football record: 5-6. He was a DUDE on D as a linebacker. Dashel had 83 tackles, 2 INT’s, 2 fumble recoveries, and also forced 2 fumbles. In hoops, this Eagle can fly all over the court to make plays. Spurrell plays very hard/fast/intense. Dashel can put up points off the bounce and from beyond the arc. Spurrell and the Eagles should have a very nice hoops season.
Football record: 5-5. He was an important part of the Cards special teams. Smith also was the QB and he threw for 688 yards and 10 TD’s. In basketball, Smith will be the veteran for the Cardinals. Last season, CJ averaged 8 ppg, 3 rpg, and 2 apg. He also shot an impressed 33% from 3pt-land. Look for Smith to increase his production and for the Cards to be a talented team.
Honorable Mention 9B
Football record: 5-6. He was a playmaker for the Eagles this fall. In hoops, Jens is a smart and heady player. He has plenty of potential as a shooter as Hansen has good shooting mechanics. Hansen can also get to the cup for buckets. Jens works his tail off on the hardwood and he had a nice summer of AAU hoops. Jens is a fierce competitor and a leader. It is going to be fun to see what the youngster can do this winter.
Football record: 3-6. He was a standout as a WR/DB for the Battlers. In hoops, Ryder has a great motor that never slows. Falkenhagen does well at slashing to the rim and in 1on1 situations he is tough to keep in front. Ryder has a good basketball sense and he makes his teammates better. Expect Falkenhagen to have a very nice basketball season.
