Kristian Aquino
Kristian Aquino stood out as a pure jump shooter with a phenomenal ability to catch and fire from all angles of the perimeter. This sharpshooter wasted no time heating up from the field, as he quickly nailed his first jumpshot from the left wing off the catch and followed it up a couple of plays later with a one dribble pull-up from free-throw circle after keeping the possession alive with an offensive rebound. Aquino was one of the most reliable, efficient, and smart shot makers in the entire building. The senior guard showed off a terrific looking jumpshot, textbook form, a shooter’s touch, and perfect elevation while showcasing solid range and drilling multiple corner three-pointers. Calm, poised, unphased by pressure, and he let it fly with no conscious whether there was a hand in his face or he was off balance, he also attacked closeouts with pump fakes and a side step pound dribble. In crunch time, Kristian Aquino wanted the ball in his hands and he made the most out of it, making clutch jumpshots and free-throw during the closing minutes of the game to keep the score within a possession or two.
Jace Mills
Jace Mills
Jace Mills proved to be the type of player that anyone would want on their team, he did all of the little things to help his team succeed. Mills played with a great feel for game, he got to his spots offensively and made the correct passes. Defensively, Jace Mills played effective help-side defense and forced the opposing guards into tough throws by making them attempt passes over his head where his teammates were ready to swoop in for the steal. With under a minute left in regulation, Jace Mills came up big in the clutch, drilling a heavily contested wing-three to tie the game at 62 before falling short of victory.
Amaru Martin
Amaru Martin
Junior combo guard, Amaru Martin showed very good attacking skills. particularly on the baseline where he showed a tendency to get into the teeth of the defense and dish the ball out after making the defense collapse. Martin’s body control in the air and on the ground made it extremely easy for him to squeeze and slip through tight creases and congested lanes. He often found a way to create separation and get around a defender as he stopped, accelerated, and changed directions on a dime, Martin’s sneaky quick first step also allowed him to touch the paint on a number of occasions.
Trent Perry Trent Perry 6’4″ | SF Frisco LoneStar | 2026 State TX displayed an elite ability to function, score, and make plays within a half court set whether he was playing on or off of the ball. This versatile point-forward was highly effective from both guard and forward positions throughout the night on each side of the ball. Perry had times where he played the high post and times where he ate the defense up off the bounce from the perimeter. The 6-foot-3-inch freshman really made it known that he’s a dangerous and fearless slasher on the first possession of the second quarter when Perry took the ball down the court on a fast break and exploded off the hardwood, taking flight from way outside of the lane, attempting to punch a mean one-handed slam dunk on Denton’s top rim protector. Although Perry barley missed the dunk due to the foul, the confidence and leaping ability to rise up and try such a dunk was phenomenal in itself and left the crowd stunned and speechless. This kid saw the game at a very high level for a true freshman and this was evident with the passes that he made which led his teammates to easy shots not to mention his knack for pro hopping into space inside of the lane. On the defensive end, Trent Perry Trent Perry 6’4″ | SF Frisco LoneStar | 2026 State TX used his quick choppy feet to stay in front of his man and his chest to cut off straight line drives while defending on the perimeter, he also did a remarkable job of shutting off an entire side of the floor at times with his deny defense and by keeping a hand in the passing lane.
