Maddox is a hard working prospect who has really grown over the last year, both in stature and in his game. I was very impressed by his ability to attack off the bounce and get to the rim with his handle. Bloomgren is incredibly patient with the ball in his hand, calmly surveying the court before looking to punish the defense. does not force anything or cut off opportunities for his teammates. He is a consistent finisher down low, and can get two feet in the paint with ease off a live dribble. I loved his overall feel for the game, and how well and often he moved without the basketball. His constant motion forced the defense to key on him, and allowed glimmers of space for his teammates to attack with a live dribble. Where he is an elite prospect however is how well he plays on the defensive end of the floor. The versatility that he offers including the impressive blend of his frame, athleticism and aggressiveness really makes him stand out every time his feet touch the hardwood.
Luke Reder Luke Reder 6'5" | SG Tomball Memorial | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 Tomball Memorial High School
Luke is a high level guard who has wing size, but a knock down shot to go along with him. He has a very consistent release and his height allows him to shoot over the top of most guards. His silky smooth shooting mechanics allows him to get to rise up and knock down shots at any given moment. He is great at moving without the basketball and can quickly set his feet and square up to the rim for a good look. He can play small ball center or the four if necessary, and his aggressiveness and ability to defend is at an elite level already. He can operate out of the high post and create offense for his teammates as well, drawing the attention of the defense as soon as he puts his head down and then accurately making the right read to his open shooters.
Trap Johnson Trap Johnson 6'5" | SG Belton | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 Belton High School
Trap is an impressive athlete who scores at will across all three levels of the floor, especially off the bounce but also with his back to the basket. He is patient and willing to utilize his post moves to get defenders out of his way. His ability to create space for himself that way really stood out. He showed off a reliable set shot from beyond the arc when given time to set his feet. He is a willing hunter of the mid- range, calmly attacking his defender and rising up in their face. He is now tasked with taking over most of the offensive output with Belton, as they lost a few starting seniors last year… Expect Johnson to make some noise this season!
Peter Serunjoji Peter Serunjoji 6'5" | SF Mansfield Summit | 2024 State TX 2024 6’5 Mansfield Summit High School
Peter is a do it all wing who can get to the rim with his handle and create separation off the bounce with ease. I was very impressed with how well he was able to manipulate defenders and attack them off the bounce, seamlessly turning the corner on nearly everyone. I loved watching him manipulate on ball screens and attack the defense on the short screen. He made his defenders get called out by their coaches for their inability to keep up with him through screens. He was great at attacking space when they sagged off of him to avoid the screen, he routinely got past his opponent and made the right decision.
