Got a chance to check out the Doral guard last month at the Labor Day Crown event. He’ll probably be one of the leading scorers for 4A Doral, so I’m glad I had a chance to see him and add him to the list.
I’m intrigued by what Wright will bring to Sierra Vista. I only got to see a quick glimpse of the transfer from Texas, but that was enough to know that he will have an impact this season to be deserving of the rankings.

McCoy’s game has stuck with me. I like his aggressiveness, and he showed the ability to shoot it a little when I saw him this summer during the Grizzles Summer Tournament.
Hines is another guy that I got to see during the Sierra Vista workout. His best skill is his defense, but he’ll also bring some intangibles to Vista including toughness and team leadership.
Reid is a first timer from up North. The shooting guard chipped in over 8 per game last season for a 5A Douglas squad that made the final four.
Got a chance to see Sampallo during the Balldawgs Camp a few months ago. He was one of the standout players at the camp, showing a decent handle along with the ability to create for himself. He should be one of the leading scorers for 4A Del Sol this season.
Ricks is a player that I like a little more each time I see him. He recently attended the Prephoops Top 250 Expo, providing me with an opportunity to get a long look at him. His frame, is the first thing that stands out, as he has a powerful upper body. Ricks is a decent athlete, who is at his best when he gets out in transition, and I look for him to have an impact for DP this season.
Lawson is one of the top high flyers in the state. After contributing to Legacy as a Junior look for his role and scoring to increase this season. His ability to play in transition is obvious, but he also has shown the ability to create buckets for himself.
Legacy looks like the place for new additions. Riley is one of the highest ranked new players, as the big man made an impression on me this summer during the Grizzles Summer Tournament. He has size, but the volleyball player also jumps out the gym which allows him to complete plays above the rim.
