Below is the sixteenth installment in our Transfer Watch 2022 series. In this edition of the Transfer Watch, you will notice that two standout prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania have departed the state.
Grady Burt Grady Burt 6'5" | CG Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA – 6’5″ / Sophomore / Archbishop Wood / Philly Pride Bucks / Small Forward: Burt first grabbed our attention during the spring 2022 grassroots circuit and then again at Philly HS Live in June. This skilled, physical, and versatile playmaker attended Council Rock North last season. Burt has the size and tenacity to play on the interior. He competes on the offensive glass and is effective in pick-n-rolls. But do not fall asleep on his perimeter skills. Burt will step out to the arc and knock down three.
Raijon DiSpensa – 6’9″ / Junior / National Christian (MD) / Philly Pride National / Wing: This long and versatile athlete was a problem for Friends School League opponents last season (In 2021-22 he played at Shipley School). DiSpensa can score on the interior in a variety of ways. Additionally, he is a sneaky good three-point shooter. Because of his because height and lift, DiSpensa can shoot over defenders from any spot on the floor. He has been a standout at the Difference Makers Elite runs (NJ) for years.
Rashan Locke-Hicks Rashan Locke-Hicks 5'11" | PG Math, Civics & Sciences | 2023 State PA – 5’9″ / Junior / Math, Civics and Sciences / TF FiDonce / Point Guard: In 2021-22 Locke-Hicks was a 1st Team All-Public League selection who piloted Abraham Lincoln to the PIAA 6A state tourney. Now this speedy and elusive ball handler has taken his talents to North Broad Street. MCS is adding a lead guard who does a tremendous job of running the show. Locke-Hicks owns excellent court vision and instincts for the game. As a bonus, Locke-Hicks can shoot the three some. His lateral quickness makes him a plus defender.
Toby Ojukwu – 6’2″ / Junior / Norcross (GA) / Philly Pride National / Point Guard: Ojukwu (pic above) posted a breakout summer 2022 circuit and had skyrocketed up our Class of 2024 rankings. Unfortunately, for us the former Roman Catholic standout has relocated to Georgia. Ojukwu is an elite, three level scoring point guard who rarely turns the ball over. Ojukwu has a gift for getting two feet into the paint and then kicking out to open shooters. As a nice bonus to his offensive skills, Ojukwu is a tenacious defender. Last year Ojukwu (8.5 ppg.; 3.2 apg.; 39% from deep) helped pilot Roman Catholic to the 2022 PIAA 6A state title. He holds several DI offers.
