Continue ReadingKason Simpson Kason Simpson 6’4″ | SG Liberty Christian | 2023 State TX brought a pure sharpshooter’s presence to each game, never hesitating to let one fly even with a hand in his face. The way Simpson produced most of his offense in catch-and-shoot situations when spotting up or popping out was something to marvel at, he was at his best when operating off the ball, Kason did a fantastic job of floating around the arc with his feet always set and finishing his jumper off by holding his follow through until he saw the ball go through the net. I think it’s safe to say that Kason Simpson has a bright future as a shooting specialist especially from beyond the arc.
Highlights
This standout senior prospect showed solid potential defensively by disrupting and allowing nothing easy in his paint. Jones displayed an impressively explosive first and second bounce when blocking or alerted things inside, he swatted shots in several different scenarios from flying across the lane as a helpside defender to blocking dribble-drive shot attempts, and perimeter shooters.
Colby Springs Colby Springs 6’5″ | PF Lewisville | 2024 TX played with a good feel for the game, a high basketball IQ, and tremendous versatility with just a few limitations to his skillset. Springs was nearly impossible to defend when isolated down low on the block but Colby was also dangerous in the open court where he made himself a transition threat by running the floor exceptionally well and beating everyone up the court before finishing with a layup.
Graham Moore Graham Moore 6’7″ | PF Hebron | 2024 TX proved to be the ultimate contributor, a flat-out all-around skilled wing-forward with ideal physical tools and instincts, not to mention his effort on the defensive end which made it difficult for the opposing offense to penetrate and kick or score inside effectively or consistently. Moore excelled in transition by filling space in the open floor and in a halfcourt set where his off-ball movements led to easy dump-off passes. The lengthy 6-foot-6 forward also showed the ability to put the ball on the deck and create his own shot with dribble pull-up jumpers from outside or deceptive turnaround jumpshots in the mid-range.
When put in a position to succeed, Kaden Mitchell Kaden Mitchell 6’6″ | C Centennial | 2025 TX dominated the paint. Kaden showed good IQ and feel for the game offensively, tending to make the right decision with the ball in his hands. On the pick-and-roll, he could not be stopped, his ability to position himself in front of the defender made him an easy target. Mitchell was also an excellent rebounding threat who easily produced second-chance points and putback layups.
