Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics): The former Chaminade College Prep All-American has started the season in grand style after leading the Celtics to the NBA Finals last season. Through the first six games, Tatum is averaging 30.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game while shooting 55 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the free throw line. He was the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first week of the season.
Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards): The 11-year veteran from Chaminade College Prep signed a $251 million contract during the off-season to remain with the Wizards. Through six games, he is averaging 20.8 points, 6.2 assists and one steal a game, which are all team highs. He is shooting 53 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line.
OG Anuoby (Toronto Raptors): The former Jefferson City standout is currently averaging 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and two steals a game. He is shooting 39 percent from 3-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line.
Michael Porter Jr (Denver Nuggets): The former Father Tolton standout is off to a strong start after missing the bulk of last season with a back injury. He is currently averaging 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range.
Otto Porter Jr (Toronto Raptors): The former Scott County Central star signed with the Raptors this season after playing a pivotal role for the Golden State Warriors last season in their run to the NBA championship. He has yet to suit up this season for the Raptors as he is recovering from a hamstring injury.
Landry Shamet (Phoenix Suns): The former Park Hill standout is a valuable role player off the bench with his perimeter shooting for the 5-1 Suns. He is currently averaging 6.3 points a game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range in 15 minutes a game.
Alec Burks (Detroit Pistons): The former Grandview standout is beginning his 11th season in the league. He is currently on the mend from and injury and hasn’t seen any action yet this season. Last season, Burks averaged 11 points and five rebounds while shooting 40 percent from the free throw line for the
Ochai Agbaji (Utah Jazz): The former Oak Park standout is currently averaging 5.3 points while shooting 46 percent from the field while averaging 15 minutes a game in his rookie season.
